I don't know of one, you could mention it on the buy/sell, specify Canadian maybe? But.... what are you wanting to trade??

Well had I known there was a store in Selkirk!!! I'm all over it like a fat kid on a smartie!! Too bad their website is so out of date. I'm in Birds Hill . . . so a quick jaunt to Selkirk is in order me thinks!!
Anyways, here's something funny that I noticed on a drive out to Selkirk about a week ago. We're heading north on Main St and passing by the cemetary. It's lovely. Then I notice the billboard advertising a new 55+ housing complex going up right next to the cemetary!! Now, either someone has a really twisted sense of humor or someone just really wasn't thinking LOL Some things just make you go hmmmmmm . . . .

No kidding! I cancelled our reservations up at Mt. Kidd this morning camping for the weekend. DH babbled something about "snow" and "too cold". Evidently, Jamaicans are more sensitive to that sort of thing! Go figure. I was SO not happy to dig out my snow brush for the car this morning though!

Probably never (sadly) but maybe SU will adjust their prices to account for our strong dollar again ??!! If we're REALLY lucky we won't even notice the 5% increase in prices.

I heard that the West got snow today....WOW... I am SO sorry for you guys!! I actually turned our air conditioner on in the house as it is so hot and humid! Please don't send the snow our way, I spent the entire long weekend outside planting! Keeping my fingers crossed for you that you have summer soon!

Default Pencil Case for Coloured Pencils

So, I thought I'd check with y'all here on this. I am looking for a pencil case that will hold 120 coloured pencils and I found one at Dick Blick in the states (pictured below). Does anyone know if these little gems, or something of the sort, are available anywhere in Canada? I've tried doing a variety of searches online and all I seem to get are pouches or kids pencil cases . I'm hoping to avoid the whole border mess, but sadly enough it looks like I'll have to go that route...

Thanks for any help you can provide, I sure appreciate it!

Just checking in, it has been awhile. I live in Brampton, Ontario not far from Toronto. Believe it or not it is even too hot here to even stamp as my air conditioning doesn't reach the second floor where my stamp room is.

....no, I have never found one in Canada, I don't know why Curry's don't carry them but have only ever seen them at Blicks.

...I just bought a scrapbook binder leather box at Homesense- it's a binder ring attached in a leather box if you can picture that...- and I am making my own sleeves to fit my pencils.

Good morning every one..happy to see someone has bumped up this thread again..welcome to the new Canucks here.
Theres a heavy duty thread going about the BIG price difference in the su catty's between Canada's $ and the usa. $..it is a big amount and makes you wonder how long we can afford to buy from su.. also Canada's catty not having a lot of the stamps that the usa. catty has..i hope someone can explain that to me..i can't understand why if catty's are being made for canada and the usa. why we can't have all the same items.. am i missing something here?
It's raining here..but has been dry the last few days..my gardens were getting thirsty.. so it saved me from using water from our well.
Hope you all have a good day..keep this thread going..it's so nice to chat with fellow canucks..
loves ya

Hi from the 'Peg! I just found this thread, and I think it's a great idea.

I hadn't been to the US catty yet. I'm a little surprised that they have more stuff than we do, but then again, it's not really all that much of a shocker. If SU! has a problem with us buying from demos in the states, they should at least offer us the same stamp sets. It wouldn't make up for the crazy US-CDN price differences, but it would be a start. ;)

When i had seen a card in the gallery with antique trucks i had asked the owner where she got the stamps..she said in the catty..we both looked and couldn't be found in the Canadian catty but was in hers (the usa one)..then we realized checking a few other things were not the same. I finally got my set when my demo got it for me from her friend in the States.
Doesn't seem fair.. a great set like that and we didn't have it?

Bye the way..i finally got to meet Wenchie!! we met in the city( i live outside winnipeg) man oh man..she is a sweetheart..very down to earth and fun. The 2 + hours went by fast..and we will be meeting again..would love to meet some other Winnipers or from the rural areas..would be a great get together..talk soon..and welcome if i missed any new canucks who came in..

Thanks, Gail!

BTW, the new clear $1.50 stamps arrived at the St. Vital store today. I hope that Polo got some, too, but I couldn't say for sure. These are the stamps that were mentioned in the '4th clear stamp series' thread. We got several boxes, so I hope there will be "enough" for the next week or so.

Happy hunting!

I'm in! Then again, since I'm not taking any vacation until after the summer (or perhaps not until after Christmas), I'll be in town for quite a while. I'm pretty easy to find during the day, too -- being a wage-slave at Mike's will do that to a person. ;)

It seems like there are quite a lot of us from Winnipeg, doesn't there?

Gail, believe it or not, I think we've already met -- especially if you took a stamping class from Charlene at Mike's a month or two ago. I wandered through, said hi, and went back to the "batcave" (back room) to continue working. If that's you, I'll be stamping with you this year at Carolyn's.

Of course, if that's not you, I'll still look forward to meeting you whenever we can all figure out a time and place.

ttfn!

Yes, that's my store. Maybe your face (on your avatar) looks familiar because I've seen you there at one time or another. I work primarily in the back room, since I'm the shipper/receiver, so unless I am on a rare trip out of the "batcave", or unless I'm shopping after I've clocked out for the day, you prolly wouldn't see me at all. This is the slow season -- the calm before the storm of the Christmas crafting season -- so I'm out on the floor doing whatever more often than normal, but once September hits, I'll prolly have more than enough to keep me busy off the floor.

Another Winnipegger here! Melanie, I'm pretty sure I have seen you around the St. Vital Mikes. I'm there far too often! Thanks for the tip on the clear stamps - I picked some up.

Cindy
