Hi,
I just put in an e-mail to the webmaster asking about the possibility of a Canadian forum. I think we all know that we would not stop going into the other forums. We love the US gals!
This is about assisting one another with finding product that is easily obtainable for the US girls, but not so easy for us Canucks. And perhaps to help us coordinate group buys when someone makes a shopping trip across the border to Joanns or where ever.
Don't know if it will fly, but we shall see! Just having this thread has been extremely helpful, as I just discovered a new store in Calgary that I may not have ever heard about! Also, I have increased my list of Canadian on-line stores by a huge number since we all started asking about buying in Canada.
I'm from Edmonton, formerly from Manitoba, and I love knowing the rest of you Canucks are out there!
I visit my sister in Altona, Manitoba once or twice a year, and this past Christmas we took a quick cross-border shopping trip to Grand Forks, ND. Didn't find a whole lot (we were feeling a bit pressured because of some snowy weather blowing in), but it was fun nonetheless.
I've often thought I'd like to start a Canadian online papercraft store, but haven't a clue how to go about it.
Hope we get this forum up and running and we can continue this chat. See you at the Forum!!
Guiding girl, I am also from Lethbridge, recently transplanted down to Arizona though. Was surprised to see Lethbridge pop up!! Might we know each other????? I do love Scrapbookers Paradise though!!

For those ladies living in Montreal, when I visit relatives there, the 2 stores I visit for stamping stuff are Omer Deserres in Ville St. Laurent (art supplies store) and Bonne Idee (stamping store) in Pointe Claire Village on Lakeshore. Hope I have the right spelling. They have a website, but don;t seem to have any on-line shopping.
Yep, its Bonneidee,i live not to far from there.
FYI for more west island locations, there is a new Omer Des Serres, right off the 40 and Sources Blvd.
Pluse there is Scrapbookcentrale on St. Jean Blvd. ScrapbookOuest on St.Charles Blvd and The Decorated Page on St.Charles all scrapbooking but theyve got some great stamps too.

It's possible - I lived in Lethbridge most of my life and all of my imediate family still lives there. I too love Scrapbookers Paradise. Funny small world. If you want send a PM my way and we can figure out if we once knew each other.

Wow Lou3lou I am not that far from Scrapbookers here in Calgary either. I am currently residing in Braeside. How long were you in Lethbridge?
lou3lou - looks like you just moved from Lethbridge about the same time that I did. I will also have been in Calgary for almost 2 years this september.
stampkin, where in B.C. are you from? I'm from Courtenay. I think a Candian forum would be great, but it would also make even more work for our Fabulous Mods!
CherylPenner - we share the same last name. I have an aunt and uncle in BC. Wow this forum is great!
Gail, if I knew how to attach your quote I would insert it here. I don't think they do, it is a relatively new store & when I was in there last Thursday they were just working on getting their website up and running. I will keep you posted.
Carrie, I actually left Lethbridge a number of years ago, but lived there for all of my younger days! I did live in Edmonton for a few years too. I am in Willow Park, so we aren't far from one another. pm me and we can see if we really do know each other...or at least family!!!
no problem Gail, I will keep you all posted. It is great to share some Canadian ideas & stores. I too, love the gals and the info from south of the border, but I just can't get there enough!
Linda

Other than lists of Cdn stamp/scrap stores - what else would there be on a Cdn forum? Just looking for ideas?
This forum would be to let everyone know if they have found a new Canadian site, prices, etc. Also, to coordinate a buy for numerous stampers when a person living close to the US goes across the border. As well, we could use it for swaps amongst Canadian stampers; it would just be an easy access place to check in on and see what is happening in the Canadian world of stamping.
The Stampingreatdeals site has just emailed this to me:
Hello everyone .... for those of you interested in the Cuttlebug dies and embossing folders, we have just uploaded a ton of new items to our site!
See "Cuttlebug" for details by clicking here: http://www.scrappingreatdeals.com/Cuttlebug.htm (we will be adding info about the replacement mats, etc. very shortly)
Please note that we have already ordered these newly posted Cuttlebug dies from our supplier, so they should be arriving along with our previous orders - In other words, we have a SLEW of these coming in!!! We will ship them out accordingly & no payments will be processed until items are ready to be shipped. If you have an existing pre-order in and wish to add any of the newly posted dies to your order, we would be happy to add them for you
For those of you awaiting news on the Clever Lever punches, our sales rep is to be advising us with more details by Tuesday - I will keep you posted with any details as to when they are expected to arrive.
hello eh! I'm in BC and only just over an hr from the nearest big city in the US called Bellingham. I need to see if they have a Joannes and I have heard they have a big crafting/stamping store. ITs just hard to travel far wth 2 little ones! MY sister did go down and went to 2 targets for me looking for the tin mailboxes but they did not have any :( oh well. yes it would be nice to get more things in Canada!
if you want to know all the hotspots in bellingham, look no further. there's a joanns, a stampadoodle (GREAT stamp store), paperzone, and the scrapbook store Treasury of Memories... all off of main streets, or the I-5.. totally worth it to go there, cause there's no duty on paper and paper-craft items!

OMG. is that true. I'm from Squamish and two of my girlfriends head down for the weekend to Birch Bay and shop and shop at the stores listed. We even bring one of my friends little girl so we can use her portion of what is allowed. Shhh. Anyway, that is great news and I will share it with them and now we can shop even more. WHHHHAAAAA. lol

My name is Angela and I'm from Edmonton, Alberta. I, too, would LOVE to see something like this set up. I've been coming to SCS since 2005 just to look for card ideas, and have just recently been popping in to the forums (what a wonderful world!). I received a couple of nice emails on my Birthday last year from some lovely SCS ladies so I decided to take the plunge and post my pictures. Everyone here is so friendly. I thought I'd do a search for Edmonton and I found this thread. Thank you so much stampingnewbie for the scrappingreatdeals website for Cuttlebug goodies. I'm so excited (hubby won't be) as I have only come across the limited selection of Cuttlebug dies/folders that Michael's offers.
I too would love to see a Canadian forum set up to help us share with each other great deals that we find in Cdn stores.
btw... for those in Calgary, there's a great Dollar Store in Shawnessy that carries a fairly decent selection of embellishments and also another in Deer Ridge (beside the IGA / Garden Market) where I've purchase quite a few things.

edith199 by chance do you know which dollar store it is in Calgary. Possibly the location.
