One more question...for now...lol! I made the folded star smaller size out of dark blue shimmer paper and made a tag for the center....I have a peace stamp...would that be ok or should I hand write shalom on it? or I could put a die cut snowflake there...thx in advance...y'all have been so helpful...
I decided to go with peace....I figure it means the same thing in every culture....thx so much for all your help and I better get to the post office if it's going to get there in time.

Peace or Shalom would work perfectly Sheri. Sorry no one got back to you sooner. Got wrapped up in our Hanukkah Hop and getting the projects put together.
I just got an email from ShalomScrapper.com that they are going out of business effective 12/27/12. So stock up on anything you might need. Use the code LOYAL for a 20% discount. It always sad to see independent companies go out of business. From the email, though, it sounds like life, family, and the pesky "real" jobs are the reason. I wish Rachel and Jason the best in all their future endeavors.
I know there are lots of Rosh Hashanah, Hanukkah and Passover cards out there so I just had to share the Tu B'Shevat card I created for the Moxie Fab Itty Bitty Card Challenge. A Random Act of Kindness for Tu B’Shevat | madebymamaleh Hope everyone is having a lovely Tu B'Shevat!
Great card, and such a fun idea! Happy Tu B'Shevat!

I need to make some Passover cards for some friends and am looking for some ideas. Has anybody started their cards yet?
I've had some ideas running around the back of my brain. I have an itch to incorporate matzoh in the theme. Maybe a scalloped square card run through the square lattice folder as a base? Years ago I had a roommate who came to a costume party as a plague of frogs...she dressed up in a bedsheet and painted frogs all over it. I've thought about turning that idea into a card as well.

I thought about the matzoh, but everything I tried just didn't come up looking like one..lol
Yapha has very cute frogs in her cards.
I made matzah cards a few years ago. I used Vanilla cardstock, made lines with a perforating tool, then "puffed" it with a stylus. Finished it with sponging caramel and kraft ink. Unfortunately we don't have caramel anymore. It came out great but was a lot of work and my hand really hurt from the puffing. I don't suggest that technique for a large volume. I'm stumped this year. Maybe I'll take some inspiration from Jean and do punch art frogs.
There's a cute frog in the Moving Forward stamp set. I've been eyeing that one for Passover cards.

I was thinking I might skip Passover cards this year because I'm working on a set of Bat Mitzvah invitations (for a customer, not mine). But I may need to rethink - these are adorable!

Those frogs are soooo cute ! I might just change my chain of thought and make something with a frog.
StampinCPA...Sometimes I think about not sending out any cards but I always change my mind. I have a 98 yr old family friend that always expects cards from me. The one yr that I decided to send out bought ones, she was so dissapointed.

My DH is a photographer who does mostly Bar/Bat Mitzvahs. I usually do Passover and Rosh Hashanah cards for his clients and our family/friends. Some of his clients really look forward to them every year and I hate to disappoint them. After vendor fairs I send a TY card to everyone who signed our sign-in sheet. He met with a potential client who commented she contacted him because of the card. He came home and said, "get the tape recorder - You Were Right!" Our Rabbi's wife told me that she takes out the RH cards every year and puts them all up. Wow, if that isn't a big ego boost, I don't know what is!

So would it be rude to give a frog a sign that says...got your matzoh...or would you prefer a plague? I have a rabbi friend who I think would find it hilarious but I'm not too sure about in general. :d
I loved your Matzoh cards by the way. Especially the star one. Then again...I'm still hooked on those star cards.
Thanks Jean. I've still got lots of scraps of the matzah paper left over from last year. Odd shapes though. Not sure what I would do with them. Maybe inspiration will strike next year. Don't want to use the same DSP 2 years in a row!
Hope your Seders are fabulous if you are celebrating!

Wow, it's been a year since the last time someone posted in this thread. I just saw a for sale post by a Stampin' Up Demo for Hebrew Holidays. If anyone is interested, pm me and I will be happy to try to put you in touch with the seller.
I've been trying to come up with a good idea, but I just can't think of anything. One of my cards from last year is featured over at the cardmaking.today blog, though

I live in New Zealand which is not exactly known as the centre of the Jewish Universe. So we have to sometimes make do with limited supplies. Just to show that you don't need much to make a Purim card:

I made two more cards, 25 in total. That's it though, for this year. Even if Moshe himself knocks on the door for a few more; he can have some matzah ball soup, but no more Pesach cards. What the next festival.....?
