Default ISO Craft Fair

I'm looking for a craft fair in the Indianapolis area. I've checked the ads in the paper and made some phone calls to local chamber of comerce, but I haven't found anything. It was suggested that I start calling schools and churches, but that's a pretty big list.

Does anyone know of a craft fair in the indianapolis area??

please help

You can also try your local tourism and/or visitors' center website. That's how I found the craft fair I'll be participating in. Our chamber of commerce didn't have anything on their site.

OK-- the only one I found on www.indy.org (visitors site) was over $600 for the booth and 5 days long. You could find other demos in your area and split the cost... but a show that big may be filled up by now anyway:

Here's a site with some listings:

I've found that OTHER COMPANIES' listings of where they'll be is a great resource. ;)

Just a couple jumping-off points for you.

I live in Indiana and if you will contact the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, they will send you a festival guide for the state of Indiana. I just recently requested info from West Lafayette and they sent me one. This booklet lists all the festivals and craft fairs in the state of Indiana. It won't have all the small bazaars done by schools and churches, but it will list the major events.

Hope this helps!

You don't actually have to call all of the churches. Just call a big one of each denomination. In my area, it seems like most of the Methodist and Catholic churches have fairs. Could be different in your part of the country. But if the ones you call are not having a fall fair, they'll probably know who is.

There are also a few websites out there that have craft listings. One that comes to mind is craftlister.com, which will give you a list of shows that fit the criteria you enter into their search engine.

Keep in mind that churches often limit participation to members of their own congregation. I gave up on doing those types of bazaars for just that reason. My church doesn't do stuff like that, and every other one that I called told me that I had to belong to that church to sign up for a table.

You can also try www.wheretheshowsare.com. I think that is only for certain states but it should help.

Good luck!
Robyn

ps. I am one that did call ALL the churches and schools in my area to do craft fairs and it really paid off. A lot of the churches are not associated with each other at all and they all do different things. Some of my biggest successes were with the smaller churches.
