There is a thread here titled "Amazing Scrap-room". There is a link to see this amazing scrap room. The woman has "stacked" Iris drawer carts.
Has anyone else stacked these drawer carts? If so did you anchor the top set to the bottom set so it would not slide off ? Or do they have some type of grooves to keep them sturdy when they are stacked ?
I would worry that when a top drawer was pulled out it may topple the entire stack
I haven't stacked mine as high as she has - but they are made to be stackable. You just take off the top piece and the extra drawers snap into the pillars of the drawer below.
Getting them apart is just a little more tricky, because you have to take the drawer out to be able to press on the little tabs that release the pillars. The trick to removing the drawers is to press in on the sides of them a little.
I have two carts stacked on top of each other with no issues. In fact, mine aren't even snapped in in any fashion (I think I better check that out LOL!!).
I should mention that I have mine on carpet with the wheels taken off.
I also have a bunch of full Iris cases just sitting in a pile on top of another one of my carts and I have noticed that the top has buckled a bit under the weight since they're not in the frame. I don't recommend that method--hee hee.

Would like to see this but cannot find it when I do a search. Can you link me to it?
I have them stacked too. If you are worried use some duct tape on the sides where they meet. I have never had an issue and mine are not taped together.
blessings.
I have many of the 6 drawer unit Iris carts. I followed the instructions to dismantle them and re-attached them into 8 eight units. I use these for most of my craft supplies including my punches which, of course, are very heavy when you have a lot of them. I have never had a problem with them tipping over or being unstable at all. I did remove the wheels on mine since I wasn't planning on moving them.
Staples brand of stacking/rolling carts have proved to be as good as my original Iris brand...I have some of both, going on 5+ years and have never had a problem...I do suggest that if you use them to store punches, take them off the wheels, it makes the frame more sturdy...

How does she open the top drawers? I'm a tall girl and I don't think I could get my hand inside the drawer. It almost looks like a library.... guess it sorta is....
I am short, 5' 1" . However I calculated the height of 2 stacked carts would be about 53" .
I could deal with a drawer that high if I put in things such as my brayer, stamp-a-ma-jig and such that I would know exactly what I had in my hand when I reached for it.
It would be great just to gets some things out of my closet into my dinette area where I stamp
