What are your "go to" black inks for alcohol markers and for water coloring? I've been using Staz On for water color and Momento Tuxedo Black for alcohol markers. What are your opinions regarding the different inks? Just wondering if I should stick to what I'm using or if there are better ones I should know about.
Versafine Onyx Black is still my go-to for almost everything. I don't use alcohol markers much so I have no recommendation there. Personally I don't find the Versafine Clair to be as black, but maybe that's just the pad I got. Ranger's Archival black is next on my list, for stamping on painted or alcohol ink backgrounds.
I use Momento Tuxedo Black for my coloring (with alcohol markers). I've tried several others on the market and always come back to this. It stamps well, doesn't stain and doesn't smear.
I don't do much watercolor so can't really help with that
Versafine and Memento like previous posters. I always heat emboss the Versafine as I am impatient and will smear it. I use any color Memento ink for alcohol coloring.
Ranger Archival is what I use in instances where I would have previously used StazOn, as I absolutely detest StazOn. Like others, I use Memento for alcohol markers and switch between Versafine and Archival for watercolor (depending on the surface I'm stamping/coloring).

I am with you: StazOn for water coloring and Memento with alcohol markers. I have many colors of each. I use the StazOn cleaner so my rubber stamps have no stains; plastic stamps are stained the first time I use them regardless of ink.

I did notice that when I stamped some last night with the Staz On; it was sticking to the paper and pulling it up, when I lifted the lid of the Misti. Was really irking my nerves! I'll try again with my stronger bar magnet, and see if that makes a difference. If not, I may research what ink is good for watercolor. I also have Versifine Onyx Black and some dye and chalk inks in black.

When this happens to me I re-ink my pad. StazOn evaporates quicker than most.
I have the Impression Obsession hybrid inks and they work perfectly with alcohol inks and watercolor. I've never been a huge Memento fan. I like Versafine/Clair for watercolor too.
For alcohol markers, Momento Tuxedo Black ink is a popular choice as it is a dye-based ink that is designed to be alcohol marker-friendly. Other popular alcohol marker inks include Copic's Various Ink Refill and Ranger's Archival Ink.
For watercoloring, StazOn ink is a good choice as it is a solvent-based ink that dries quickly and is water-resistant once dry. Other popular watercoloring inks include Ranger's Archival Ink, Tim Holtz Distress Ink, and VersaFine Clair.
It's always a good idea to test different inks to see what works best for your specific projects and techniques. Factors such as paper type, coloring medium, and personal preferences can all affect the performance of an ink.

I am a big fan of the hybrid/amalgam ink pads because I can stamp and then decide what to color with later since they work with alcohol AND water based mediums. And some times I use both on the same image to get the colors I want!
I started with Gina K. amalgam ink, but switched to the IO hybrid ink that Dina also recommended to have access to more colors and refills, too. They're great.

What cardstock are you using? I am having a heck of a time with the ink running when using alcohol markers. I have tried Memento, Spectrum Noir, and Archival Ink all with running. Any advice would be appreciated...

Do they stamp fine lines well? I've tried a couple others, but found they made thin lines thicker.
I think the IO hybrid inks do a great job with detailed images. I will try to attach a pic of a card I finished yesterday. I used my stamp platform and inked and stamped twice. The hybrid ink once again came in handy, because I did not have a suitable blue in my spectrum noir markers, so I watercolored the dots on the hat using a tombow marker and waterbrush. I also added stickles on the hat, and glossy accents on his eyes. No running on an image with 4 different mediums
