Default inking brayer

How would you ink a brayer up if all you have is the small palette ink pads?
I know you have to roll it over the regular size ink pads. I really don't want to buy the larger version of some of the palette colors I have because I know I won't use them that much.
Any ideas?

Thanks

Haven't tried it but it seems to me like it should work ...

swipe the small ink pad across the width of the brayer and keep repeating in sections (overlap a bit) until the brayer is completely covered.

I don't think it will be as effective as using a larger pad but it should work.

If you try it please post back here with your results. TIA and ...

I am learning to brayer too. I have smaller ink pads also. I do a combination of swiping the ink pad over the brayer all around once or twice then I'll set the ink pad on the table and then roll it back and forth over the small surface and just make sure I turn the roller so that it gets evenly colored--unless you are going for an uneven look. I usually can cover the brayer pretty well this way.

You can use the ink refills on a baby wipe. It works pretty well.
You can also use the small ink pads and a large blank stamp.
Just cover the blank stamp with ink, then roll the brayer over it until it is covered evenly.
