Default I'm personalizing my starter kit, advice?

OK, so I'm finally signing up. My upline-to-be gave lots of advice, but I am always up for more. Here's what I'm thinking...

Perfect party
All year cheer I
Spring garden (is that gonna retire???)
Shape-ups (on p 178: already have beyond the basics, and really want to try kissing with the shapes)

delicate design wheel.

And about the scrappin add-on, I love the leather albums, and I think the catty doesn't do them justice. I have some CM friends that I would like to convert, so I wonder if a 6 x 6 leather album is something to thinkl about. If so, which simply scrappin kit? Heritage? I could make a heritage book....but I just can't make up my mind!

Ideas, anyone?

I would include Fresh Flowers because you get the Inspiration Sheets with the starter and you can't switch them out. I didn't order FF and regretted it. Went back and order it a month later. Very versatile and a crowd pleaser. Definately get the Add-on. Another mistake I made and wished I would have.

Have fun planning! I just signed up in February.

I don't know if you can switch the album in the scrappin add on to the leather one because it is more money. i think you can switch some things with things of equal or lesser value.

no you can't swap for something that's more money...only equal or lesser value. And no you can't pay the difference. But you can get it with your first order at 30% off within the 45 days.

Default Starter Kit selections

I would suggest that you look at something other than Perfect Party. This set doesn't look to me to be very flexible. I think there are better choices. Consider the interests of the people you will be inviting to your opening workshop. However, if you love the set and see yourself using it personally, then GO FOR IT!! But remember that you will be living with the sets, so make sure they are something to can enjoy looking at. Personally, I got Toy Box and the matching Scrappin kit. I also like Buttons, Bows, Twinkletoes; You Warm My Heart as good $24.95 sets.

Vintage is a nice place to start for the Scrappin Kits. I also got Summer Sketches because I LUUUUV the sets Summer By The Sea, and Seaside Sketches.

Good luck to you.

PS: Fresh Flowers is also a good recommendation.
PPS: Do your best to make choices that are the same price as the standard kit sets for best value usage.

I got Polka Dot Party and then the matching Simply Scrappin' set. I have been able to demo how the SS kits work with its matching stamp set. They've been good sellers for me.

I would like to point out that since Fresh Flowers and Perfect Party are part of the "official" starter kit, it's a very good bet that those sets will not be retiring any time soon (since you seem concerned about that).

I'll admit that I don't use Perfect Party very often, but the Starter kit includes a little booklet that shows a bunch of cute cards using the "pre-selected" sets and I'm sure SU! did an awful lot of market research before deciding what sets to include.

I guess my suggestion would be to get the suggested sets unless you already own them - then pick whatever you think you'll love most!
