when do you get your complimentary copy? This month is my first time being published in Cards magazine. I was thinking I'd have receive my complimentary copies before they go on sale on the stands. I haven't received mine yet. Is this normal?
I'll probably get it this week. I'm just too stinkin' impatient to see my work in print!
I haven't dealt with Cards but with other publications I've actually had mine waaaay later than they hit the newstands. I've always put it down to the fact I'm in the UK but I don't really know.
Maybe somebody who's been picked up for Cards will have a better answer for you, I thought I'd bump this for you to give it a better chance!
I haven't been published in Cards but it seems to me that I get complimentary copies of Paper Crafts later than when they come out on stands. Of course, I have a subscription so its not a big deal.:cool:
Though I haven't submitted any art recently, when I've been published in Rubbestampmadness, I always got my free copies before I got my subscription. I've also been published in Vamp Stamp News and I think I got a free copy at the same time as when the subscription copy came.
I'm in the March issue of Scrap & Stamp and got my copy a few weeks ago, but it's already on the newsstands. I'm in February CARDS and it's on the newsstands but haven't even received my subscription yet, let alone the complimentary copies. I've got a bunch of other work being published this year in various magazines so far that I know of, but most mags are notoriously late for getting you that kind of stuff. What's really fun though is when you get a bunch of the goody boxes all in one day! That sorta makes it worth the wait.
Congrats on being published! I've been published twice so far- once in Just Cards Holidays and then just recently in Just Cards Birthdays. The first time I got my comp issue after the regular subscriptions went out. This last one I got on Friday and the regular subscriptions were supposed to be mailed on Saturday...guess it all depends on the particular magazine.
