Default I think they overlooked something here...

An article on the 5 most expensive addictions:
Article

Alcohol, Drugs, Overeating, Gambling and Smoking.

I think they forgot to consider stamping/papercrafts. Maybe we should direct them to SCS and see if they, too, get sucked in (never to return). I find it to be quite addicting, and expensive, too! ;) But I'll take it anyday over most everything else!

yes, but it's a sweet addiction, because you can give it
to someone else! It's a contagious addiction!

I just told my DH last week that his pack a day habit costs more than my minimums as a SU demo. He "says" he doesn't smoke a pack a day and I "know" I spend more than my minimum!!!! LOL. I'm sure I'd go on a stamp diet if I could get him to quit, though.

I hope they keep over looking it, then dh won't think it is anything official. I don't want to join a rehab group!

There are help groups for all of those addictions where they encourage each other to overcome their problem.

But stampers get together and just encourage and enable one another! That's ok, cause I say our addiction is "art thereapy".

You're right, but at least our addiction has a positive outcome (except for the bank book)

My name is Diane...and I'm a stamp-a-holic. I used to say I could quit anytime I wanted to, but then I started packing my lunch and quit buying it so I could spend more $$ on stamps. I even became a "dealer" so I could get my fix with a discount. Now I've even got my 7yo DD hooked. There is no hope for us...

Definitely an addiction! I had an odd experience this evening. A group of women I work with got together for a craft night (primarily scrapping), but I took most of my stamp sets to catalogue. Ok..I have a lot of stamps, but the way everyone kept going on about the amount of stamps I had...I started feeling like a criminal. These gals probably spend more on their scrapping then I have on my stamping, but everyone kept commenting on "my addiction." I just laughed it off and played along...but I wonder what that was about. Perhaps cards aren't considered "valuable" like a scrapbook....not sure...but it was odd.

Anyway...I enjoy my addiction and it brings me immeasurable amounts of joy so I can't see myself joining a 12-step program for it anytime soon.
