I started stamping in 2001, and shortly after I became a CTMH consultant. I has a stamp index that I cut from the catalog and pasted into a book. Two moves and 100's of stamps bought and sold since then I just THIS MORNING (after an ALL NIGHT STAMPING FESTIVAL) finished my index. I store mine like Patter Cross does, my index is not like hers though. All my stamps are mixed up - I have sentiments with sentiments, flowers with flowers, etc. I could have printed pictures off the 'net but decided I wanted to know the EXACT SIZE of something when I was looking at it. I have cut pages the same size as the storage pages and whatever is on a storage page is on a piece of cardstock that same size. Then I just numbered all my binders and put that number on the page. ALL my stamps are unmounted, even any wood mounted ones (except USC wood slide stamps). I am EXTREMELY thrilled to have this all done, and cannot wait to just FLIP through my binder and find a stamp.
PS - I have kept the packing off any sets, individual stamps I own - and have pasted them into a 3 ring binder so if for ANY REASON i ever needed to know that manufactorer of stamp and forgot to write it on the back of the stamp or it is clear - then I can just go to that big binder and flip through the book and find it.
Good Luck!
