Yesterday I was looking for some flowers for a card. I have several of these stackable plastic chest type storage units. I have stacked them and have 6 big drawers. I got to looking and 3 of the drawers are full of pre-made flowers. Most of them are either Prima or Bo Bunny.
I have the run-over flowers (I told you I need some intervention) in two big baskets.
And the sad thing is, every time I go to a look at Scrapbooking supplies, I also look at the flowers first:rolleyes:
I have an issue with flowers lately. I don't want to pay the price of them. I stand in the isle at the store and even open a package (careful to reseal perfectly) and look at the flowers and how they are made. I have come to where I make my own now.
I've watched all the crazy videos on youtube as well as I've come up with some on my own. I love it. Then I customize my flowers per project. I have made so many I don't think that I'll ever use them all. I have issues too.
I've made fabric, paper and even metal. The thing is that I love to make them even if I don't use them. That's what's crazy. I have real flower issues. lol
I think I have a really big problem, I had to get my husband to build me a bigger room.
I knew, I had lots of stuff, but not as much as I have. The way I justify my supplies are they are too pretty to use, I like looking at them.
I am presently going thru all of my loose paper (not pads, collection packs or 6x6 pads) trying to purge at least half of my 12 x 12 papers. It is a huge project because I have so much paper (a couple months ago I put pix in my gallery) I have already spent a couple days and have a long way to go. It will be so nice to gain some space again. Next will be punches.
Blessings

I'm with StamperDea. I thought we were supposed to do that - lol! We just never know when we're going to need that 1 perfect paper, ribbon, etc. that we have been hanging onto! I blame the stamp companies for putting out such wonderful products - ha, ha!
From reading these posts, sounds to me as if a good many of us started in scrapbooking before moving into card-making. That's my excuse for being part of the growing ranks of paper hoarders. I hoarded it as a scrapbooker. The hoarding continues w/card-making, since I'm now exposed to a whole different set of great paper providers, both for DSP and card stock.
As for storage...my husband built a floor to ceiling wood paper tower that holds my papers from my scrapbooking days. Still use it for card-making, since as you know, if you search your stash long enough, you'll come up wi/that perfect paper. Those papers are stored by color group, and for some color groups, solids are separated from prints. (This tower has a LOT of shelf potential, and shelves can be adjusted.) It stands in my Craft Cave, a.k.a. a spare bedroom, w/a television resting on top.
For special collections, like BG prints and their coordinating solids, they're stored upright in plastic containers designed for 12x12 papers. They're in the closet of the Craft Cave. My SU papers, solids and prints, are stored alphabetically in rolling carts...also in the closet.
My hoarding continues, more recently w/stamp sets current and retired. Right now they're stored in an antique dresser in the Craft Cave, alongside the paper tower. Problem is the drawers are so deep that the stamp sets are stored 2 and 3 deep. Mine are mostly wood-mounted, since I much prefer them over clear-mount. Am anxious to introduce yet another storage problem to my ever-helpful engineer husband, to see if he can come up w/a solution. However, am almost afraid for him to see how many stamp sets I actually own...KWIM?

I tend to be a collector-not just of stamping stuff. I have plenty of dsp. Continue to buy it. I'm manly SU. For years I didn't care for a lot of their dsp. Lately I've like a lot of their dsp-so I buy more and more.
But I actually use it...just cut it up! That said, I don't makes tons of cards. It will take three lifetimes to use up what I already have, yet I will buy more. ;-)
If there comes a time I don't like what I have, I will donate it.

My many stamping friends are taking huge piles hone and it still doesnt look much like I am missing it....
I love colouring images for cards. Some stamped and some digital. I have folders full of images I have coloured. And still I continue to look for more to colour in. I have a room and I love to sit in it and look around slowly at my card stock, ribbons, images, gems, embellishments and think and dream. Ahhhh my lovlies................. What do you mean you want me to cook dinner - go away- I'm busy, cant you see.
I feel better having just read this thread. I own more stuff than a mere mortal has a right to.
I had it all packed and put away for 3 years. Now I unpacked all the stamps, tools, ribbons, inks, and tons of paper. And then I went out and bought more paper (?) because I found Tim Holz. My idea was to use up what I already own, then I bought a Big Shot with a bunch of dies. Now thinking about a Zing die cutting machine. I'm starting to scare myself...
It's a good thing I live alone cause it's every where. I need better storage of all of this stuff (cause dealing with the root problem doesn't seem to be happening).
