I like the tin and cards idea better than the book. Also, good idea to make up some extra stamped cute blank recipe cards to include in the tin.
If guests can remember recipes on the spot, that would be nice also. I don't know if I would trust my memory to write out a recipe without having my own cards to look at though.

I also vote for the tin so she can add to it. I love the recipes I got at my shower many moons ago. Some are so funny because people couldn't remember the details. Truly a thing to cherish and very useable.

I am collecting family favorites recipes. Also the potluck things from family gatherings. The bride is a cutie and seems to love trying new things to cook.
As a cook - another vote for the tin. I have a couple of recipe books that I've been given over the years, but the wooden box that my dad made to take large index cards is so versatile, and much easier to add to / throw out something that I'm done with / replace something stained from too much use.
You know, all this talk about a wedding shower and recipes reminds me of a story I heard. Don't know if it actually happened or not, but it cracks me up.
Someone gave a canned goods shower for a bride. Everyone brought several canned items. But the catch - they were all wrapped up pretty, but the guests had removed the labels from the cans before wrapping them!
Can't you just see the poor couple opening "mystery cans?"

I used an 8x8 scrapbook to make a book of just desserts for a bridal shower once. I kept it pretty simple - DP with the recipe and minimal embellishments. I left some blank pages so she could add to it later. I also left the plastic on the cover to protect it. The recipes are in the sleeves so it should be pretty durable. After my daughter saw it she wanted one too!

I am working on the tin, thanks to all the suggestions. I made some templates for the lid and the latch. I used Modge Podge. It looks great.
I also thought if the recipe is a bit longer I can fold the card or use the back!
May I ask.....what size of tin is everyone using? I like the tin idea too. It's a little, different from the 'norm'. Do you keep each recipe separate or are they attached together somehow?
