Default I need help with inspiration

Help! You know how you have an idea for a card and it just won't behave? It just won't turn out the way you envisioned? Today that's me, probably because I'm "swapped out" and really just want to play. Anyway, tell me what colors you would use for the rose in Roses in Winter if you were using these colors:

Black Card
Garden Green layer, stamped with the little flower from RIW in versamark, which has been "distressed" in the crimper
Black layer but a smaller rectangle, torn at the bottom
Mellow Moss even smaller rectangle, torn at the bottom, stamped in versamark with Antique background.

I'll be tying twine around the Garden Green layer.

I had stamped my roses with the 2 bottom layers in light pinks, with a Real Red center, but they're not "aged" enough for this card. I tried dabbing Baroque Burgundy over it, which I liked, but it muted the rose so much you can't see the definition. I have all the Pearl Ex and wouldn't mind using that, but if run throught the Xyron it mutes the flower totally, or if just stippled on, it only gives a little sheen. I've stamped 55 roses and torn them out to give them a soft edge, but really think I need to restamp in some other colors.

HEPL! (you know, like the Jetson's on the moon!)

One of the color combos I love to use for the rose is:

pretty in pink
rose romance
rose red

I don't know if that helps or not but man, I would not want to restamp 55 roses! Eeeks!

could you tone the red down with dazzling diamonds glitter or something along those lines so that you don't have to restamp??

I agree with shoecollector, although I'm lazy and just use two ink colors. I like to use Rose Romance (stamp off once for the largest stamp, and then just regular for the medium one) and Rose Red (for the smallest, of course!) I also only use one green ink pad for the leaves (again, stamp off once for the larger stamp, and regular for the smaller, more detailed stamp.) I hope this makes sense. LOL

Try Rose Romance with Baroque Burgundy for the details--one of my faves with Old Olive and Garden Green with details for the leaves . . . together with black, it looks "aged" . . .
