I LOVE SCS.....the crafting friendships here are amazing! I love the Pay-it-Forward thread.....it gives you a chance to send something you don't need anymore to someone who will make something wonderful out of it! Just last week, I got a really nice thank-you from a NICU nurse from the hospital in Penn. (I think).....I had seen her post on here about needing supplies to make cards for babies in there unit....I sent her a bunch of supplies....I was so glad to get the thank you to find out she was thrilled with what I had sent her.
SCS friends are the BEST! We laugh together, cry together, pray for each other, share thoughts, ideas, supplies, births, deaths, accidents, hardships, happy days, everything! I just found this thread (thru TeeGeeDee's sig line) - where have I been???? As I read thru the posts, I realized that some may not be papercrafting anymore-moved on to other crafts or as my friend, RavioliGirl (Beverly) has passed over into heaven. I must say - the kindness of you all is forever in my heart. DH doesn't understand how I can spend so much time online - I have told him - these are my friends! He is amazed when he gets the mail and sees envelopes and packages from Hawaii, New York, Minnesota, Washington, Georgia, Florida and every other state in the US and even Canada. Then I explain the "extra goodies' that some of you send along - must say the chocolates, coffee and such REALLY gets his attention. I think he is getting it - you are the BEST friends around! And most of you I have never met!
Last year I admired cards of several people here at Split Coast. They were all kind enough to send me a sample of their cards and to include some thing to make the card. Thanks again for sharing your amazing work with me.
Now that I finally got up the gumption to really participate here, I am amazed at how warm and welcoming everyone is! So many nice people, ready to welcome a newbie, and give love on the first few things I put in my gallery... and one tiny comment about my lack of skill photographing cards had a very nice member sending me incredibly helpful links to posts with wonderfully detailed advice on just how to do that.
A big thank you to all the wonderful people here that make this such a wonderful place to hang out! I really feel like I found my new virtual home.

First, thank you, TeeGeeDee, for putting this link in your signature. I didn't know about this forum.
I have never run into anyone here who has not been nice to me. From answering every craft question I've put on here, to all the RAK forums, to the Ronald McDonald and military card donations, I've seen so many people eager to reach out and help. I love my SCS experience.
Oh, and I've participated in a number of Secret Sister exchanges. In every one, I've received generous packages that exceed the "minimum" amount and that always included items I could tell were selected personally just for me. I've always tried to return that kind of genuine touch too.
You're welcome! And thank you for putting a link in your signature. The OP is my BFF and I think threads like this are very uplifting so I try to spread the word.

The very first Divine Secret Sibling swap that I participated in, Sherrie from TN (don't remember her user name) was my big sister. In my list of things I would like to receive, I asked for some images from "Lovely as a Tree" if possible. She sent them to me in the first package I rec'd from her. I was thrilled! But even more so when she sent the reveal (last) package of the round: she sent me the actual stamp set. I was absolutely blown away because she had already more than met the requirements of the swap. So thank you again, Sherrie, for your kindness and your generosity!

I want to thank all the wonderful ladies who sent Birthday wishes for my Aunt Rose's 102nd birthday. Cards came from all over the US, Canada and one from Australia. She was bit confused as to why people she didn't know would send cards. I was there today. We read each one again and she had to touch everyone. She thanked me so many times. You ladies are the BEST!

Aww, right back at ya, Tina, my BFF. I just put a link in my signature too. Thanks for the idea.
A while back (couple of years now) I posted about a friend who was dying from cancer and the ladies here sent her wonderful cards, her hubby even joined to thank them.

Facing surgery, I was asked by jmarual if there was anything she could do. I humbly said that I would appreciate get well cards. I got many beautiful cards! They really lifted my spirits.
I'm back at home after my hysterectomy. I feel tired and sore, but no more than I should. Actually less than I expected. And while the final pathology report hasn't come though, they found no cancer during the surgery.
I hope to use some of this "time off" to enjoy all my toys in the craft room. For now, though, it's mostly sleep and television.
Thank you to everyone who sent prayers, healing thoughts and cards. It's great to be a part of such a cool community!

WOW! I never knew this thread existed either...until I saw it in someone's siggy!
I must admit that I have found a wonderful, very talented, kind hearted, and selfless group of ladies here that I always refer to as my family!
Some of you know that I have Fibromyalgia (and a couple other medical conditions) which have prevented me from working outside of my home for several years now. Cardmaking has given me purpose again, and the encouragement from all of you is priceless!
What would I do without all of you? I value SCS more than I could ever put into words!
I am very grateful for all my well-wishers here. Just an update -- I'm doing OK. I've healed from the surgery, though I still deal with chronic pain in my legs. But I'm able to work from home (another blessing!) and SCS keeps me in touch with the outside world in a very positive way.
There is no doubt in my mind that w/o this message board, I would have given up on card-making a long time ago. Not only is your creativity over the top, but your willingness to share it is absolutely wonderful. Thank you, one and all.
Just discovered this thread because I saw it in TeeGeeDee's signature line, and I'm so glad I did! I LOVE, LOVE, LOOOOVE SCS LADIES!!!! I can't even begin to list all the wonderful, nice things ladies on SCS do. I've met ladies on here I consider dear friends, and have never seen face-to-face. (Arlene, you know you're one of them. ;) )
This is your official invitation for all of you to come over to my house and stamp with me. You are all so awesome! And, if you really want to come over, you sure can, but you should probably wait until we are out of the deep freeze!

Feel free to come stamp with me too! :-) I'll supply the stamps, ink, paper, supplies, snacks and you supply the craftiness/talent. I have all the stuff, just don't know how to use it.
P.S.: Pretty sure you won't need to worry about any deep freezes here. ;)
When in Hawaii I would like to make postcards and the message would be "Wish you were here!!!!" LOL!!!
When in North Dakota I would like to do any stamping and the message in my cards would be "Wish you were here!!!!" nothing like a stamping retreat, wether it is one hour or one day.
Enjoy your day.

Just found this thread, too. A few Years ago, I spent a month in CA because my son was in a terrible accident. Thanks to my friend Jean informing them, many of the regulars on the Atheist/Agnostic thread sent cards for me to my motel. It was very comforting to know they were thinking about me.
Met my friend Jean on SCS 6 Years ago and we have been best buds ever since.
I'm a newbie to this particular board, but a big fan! I'm too old for bitter, nasty bantering and this is a hobby...not a competition, so I'm happy to have stumbled upon you all!

Ladies- I can't begin to tell you all the acts of kindness I have received on SCS. I have received cards. However, I especially appreciate the words of comfort, support and just great stories. I fell like I have many wonderful friends across the world. I have no one to craft with her. So seeing all of my SCS many projects has delighted me.
Barbara Jay sent me a beautiful set of clear blocks annd several SU ink pads with reinkers a few months back with no expectation of anything in return. Very sweet lady!
Amber (sprtchick), Linda (uncballfan) and Melissa59 have sent me the most wonderful goodies, and I am so grateful for their generosity! I have been in swaps here and I've gotten RAK birthday cards, and I just love that we can all share our love of this craft both virtually and IRL. Every gift is a treasure, and I treasure the sharing of passion, information and the most beautiful creative projects here on these forums, too. Hugs to all!
What a great thread-started before my time here. So glad it was bumped up to see. Enjoy reading the stories and find myself nodding in agreement a lot. Too many posts to "like" all but I do.
I will testify that this site has definitely changed my card world-rocked it actually- in the good way! I look forward to seeing posts from peeps I recognize, meeting new ones...maybe getting something on the buy thread, the techniques board rocks...
I could babble for days about all the support, humor, ideas, inspiration, etc. I get here. I recommend it all the time to any card makers I know. I usually check in daily, and really look forward to it in a way I dont about much else. I always feel good when I step away from here, no matter how low I was when I sat down to the computer-just looking at the gallery does that.
I love the tutorials and advice-I have an LSS but their classes are in areas that are not my thing so I am depending on here more and more.
We see a lot of words thrown around these days but I really do feel empowered and motivated by this site. I care about it. I normally resist online stuff like blogs, bc to me, like video games, you could lose your whole life into a computer.
SCS is always on my life's gratitude list now. I am in debt to those who run it paid or not. Thank you SO much.
I have had a least 2 people nice enough to send me stamps. Someone sent me a cute owl stamp from Michaels. I could not find it here and she had an extra. So sweet. Then just recently, I posted a thread about how I could not believe I did not have a good to/from stamp. A sweet person said she would send me one she did not use. She did not just send the to/from, she sent the whole set! I have in turn tried to pay it forward, sending on some of my extra stamps.
And I am always amazed at how willing people are to help each other out with a question about something stamp related or non-stamp related. Post a question and within minutes you have someone willing to help.
Especially these days it's so encouraging to have a place like this where you don't have to have your guard up. People are going to be nice. And usually in a very short time someone will offer a possible solution to your question. Wouldn't it be nice if the rest of the world acted like this!
