I just looked at my join date, and I realized that this November will make 10 years that I've been a member here. Wow! Time does fly when you're having fun!
I was here on SCS looking at the gallery daily for well over a year before I actually signed up. Then I lurked for probably close to another year before I ever made a single post. All that wasted time! lol I never realized all the different threads that we had. Took me forever and a day to figure out how to navigate them.
Isn't is scary as you get older how quickly time flies, I am not sure how I just celebrated 18 years with DH, and we have been in Canada for 6 years...it blows my mind! lol
Just a little background. When I joined this it was in the early stages. Myself, my sister and a close friend hosted the VERY first Splitcoaststamper get together in Milwaukee, Wi. We had great attendance and did it again the following year in I believe Wausau, Wi. We did a shoebox stamping for the day and barely had time to finish all the projects. Too bad we don't do those anymore. It was a really close knit family of SU demos back then. I still keep in touch with a few of them.
I know, I know, you're looking at my posts and saying, "gee, she doesn't post a lot". I don't for various reasons, but I am checking this site every day!!
I'm another one that lurked for a couple of years before joining, then lurked some more before adding a gallery and/or joining conversations and challenges. I remember being nervous because I was afraid someone would find out I was a CTMH consultant and kick me off (it was mostly SU! back then). My "official" 10-year mark is in April - LOVE this place!
I just had a realization ... as much as I love SCS, if I didn't hang out here I'd have a lot more money! lol I wouldn't be constantly enabled. It was Sue's post that made me think of that. She had a really cute, quirky card in her gallery, and I just HAD to buy that stamp. The shipping cost as much, or more, than the stamp!
Time indeed does fly! It will be eleven years for me in March! (And a little bit of time lurking before that!) I remember when I joined...I was living in Michigan with a baby and was trying to keep my SU demoship afloat. Flash forward to today: that baby is now twelve and a half years old, I've lived in four different states since then, and I'm no longer an SU demo but still loving the craft. What a journey! (And I'm afraid to look at my early gallery submissions! LOL)

I joined in March 2005. I can hardly believe that it has been over 10 years. I have learned so much here. So many many talented ladies and so willing to help others.
Eleven years this month! And, like others, I lurked for awhile before joining. And continued lurking for awhile after joining too!
But, as I spent more time, I became more active (see my post count!). Spending time here is fun and something I enjoy, especially after a long day at work.
Congratulations to all of us on joining the best site on the internet (at least imo)!
Wow, in May it will be 10 years for me!! I had no idea!! I remember when I first found this site I felt like I would never get it down and remember where I'd seen things! But I spent so much time here, I couldn't get enough! I don't have as much time to spend here like I did in those days but I feel at home here and come by at least a few times a week!
March will be 10 years for me. Wow, lot of "long-timers" on here....that is so nice to see. SCS exploded my stamping hobby! I was a scrapbooker then became a SU! demo and stumbled upon this site. My stamping just took off thanks to this place. I really love how friendly and accepting this site is, too. The challenges and VSNs are loads of fun, the tutorials creatively stretch me....oh,my, I could just go on and on!
oh my goodness... I can't believe it was almost 12 years ago for me. When I first saw your post I was thinking I was probably getting close to 10...LOL!

Woo hoo - over 300!
Totally understand I rarely post too but I am on here alot. In fact I don't post a thing all summer since I'm usually at my lakehouse in Wisc and I don't have internet there unless I go into town to the library! LOL
I used to spend my time at Scrapbook.com. I met some great gals from my area and started meeting with them in person at scrapbook stores and I even organized our first of many scrapbooking retreats.
Stores started dying off about the same time my income took a huge dip, so I put my crafting on hold for awhile. When I returned, scrapbook pages had gotten out of control. I have two sons and wanted to make pages to fit in their scrapbooks and I was greatly intimidated by all those pages with layers upon layers of lace, beads, 3-dimensional flowers and other things two inches thick that hung off the page. In my search for simpler papercrafting, I found my way here.
I did take a break and then I returned again last summer. Funny thing, now that I've been making cards I've been itching to start scrapbook again -- this time, scrapbooking for my adult sons, not for the style of the hour.
I am completely amazed and impressed at how many people are part of the SCS community on a continuous basis. I seem to be still a newbie, it will be 4 years March first.
Yipppie! To-day is my 11th Anniversary! I love this site and have found so many nice people and wonderfully creative friends here. Whooo hooo Splitcoaststampers..long may she sail!!
