I just won a $40.00 visa gift card at work (yipee!!) and I can spend it anywhere I want. Of course I imediately knew I was going to use it to feed the stamping beast, but then I got to thinking... how?!?
It's not so much that I can make any major purchases with it but it's large enough that I want to consider how I spend it and not just blow it on this and that. Also, because I won a contest through my work and effort I want to use it to treat myself.
Suggestions anyone?
thanks!

Do you know if there's a 12-step program for stamping? No, seriously, is there??
Wow! how fun! do you have a die cut machine? Maybe get some nesties? How about copics...those two have been high on my list of I want it but it's a splurge!

If you have a die cutting machine -get accessories for it (nesties, sizzix etc.) if you don't then get the machine!
or if you like outline stamps and don't have copics yet, then get those. So pretty much what the first poster said.
I say buy something that's been on your list for a long time that you never wanted to spend the money on. Since it would end up being free, (or at least $40 cheaper) it would be like someone else buying it for you!
Congratulations on your win! Let us know what you decide to buy!!!
Wow, Kathryn, congrats!! You could keep up w/ Mike's and HL coupons and go for the big ticket stuff if you don't have them. I got a $50 gift cert. and w/ a 50% off coupon at Mikes, I got my Big Kick and only had to pay tax.
HL has the blue BIA but I read on SCS that the HL in Greensboro, NC now has the pink one for $64.99. Theres a 40% off HL coupon this week. There ya go! I haven't been to my HL in B'ham but I'm going for the pink one when they get them in. The pink one is easier to use and, I think, punches more holes. Anyway, its the new/improved model. You may have to save up a little $ but I'd surely go for something big!!! Happy shopping!! Let us know what you get. May God bless, Sandi

If you can wait for a 50% off coupon, you could get an $80 item with your gift card. An Ott light would be a good investment and so would a die cutting machine.
Hmmm, you can get just about anything from www.cleardollarstamps.com
If haven't seen the new releases just yet then you have to check them out! Great prices and shipping so you could get alot of bang for your 40 bucks
I just spent my monthly allowance at cleardollarstamps
but if you like hannahstamps there is 10% off order with code:support

I suggest to go on over to H&M stamps. I just got 10 stamp sets for less than $50. Heather's having a gigantic sale!
I had to go see what all was on sale and spent $17 on $50 worth of stamps

What about buying a new cutter or something big, that you can look at and think this was free as I won it.
Also just think you could take some cards to work to show what you spent the money on and someone might buy them so you could make some more money.....
I would use it to buy something nonconsumable so whenever you use it, you will think proudly of your accomplishement. Is there something you've been wanting that seemed "frivilous"? I had dh order me a scor-pal for my holiday gift this year - I've wanted one forever and haven't felt it was a "need to buy" but a "want to buy" and we've been cutting back lately so I decided it would make a perfect gift - and it DID I adore it!!
so what have you been drooling over?? a new cutter (not that any are good LOL), any specific new stamps, nesties (my other gift item I bought for dd to give me), scor-pal, photo editing software, any storage type stuff to make your stash easier to access?
Funny but I have so many things that if I had $40 it would be for shelving for my stamping area. I can't believe how expensive that kind of thing is, it really adds up when you aren't looking.
The other thing I need is more lighting so that would be thing also -- those Ott lights and/or just the light bulbs for Ott are pretty expensive so that is another thing --
Have you tried Gina K's new 120 lb. pure luxury cardstock? If you are interested in copics or other coloring, this is THE white cardstock to get. Wow, what a difference it has made for me........................

Maybe a set of nesties if you have a die-cut machine. Palette ink is great to have on hand, too.
And then stock up on lots and lots of paper. Check out i {heart} papers. Free shipping over $40!! So you could squeeze every last penny out of that gift card. Kate also has her Borderabilities on sale for $15 right now!!! (http://www.iheartpapers.com/category...ategory_id=101)
Depends a bit on what you already have but I agree with others who said that non consumables would be good. If you buy paper and inks you'll end up giving them away even though you'll get enjoyment from using them. Personally, I'd probably buy stamps - you can never have enough stamps . Lots of places have free shipping if you spend over a certain amount (I know it's $35 at Cornish Heritage Farms, lots of other places seem to be around $50) which would mean your money went on the stamps, not the shipping.
Congrats! I personally love HannaStamps.com and the dew drops she has on her site. Or, I would go through your stash and find where you are lacking...and supplement that way. Have fun!!!
I would buy a couple of sets of unmounted stamps that I don't really need but I've been looking at for months ..or maybe buy 5 or 6 ink pads of your favorite inks..I love Versafine and asked for those one year for my birthday..I got like 4 ink pads! Whoa..I was in heaven! Make it a splurge.....something you always wanted but when consdiering it think..oh I shouldn't....Treat yourself! Make sure you let us know what you decide to get...
Wow you ladies all have wonderful ideas! I think I've narrowed it down to a tool of some sort, rather than consumables. I have a CB so I'm thinking maybe a couple of the new nesties sets (labels 1 and 2?) or maybe a new paper trimmer because I'm not thrilled with the one I have.
Hmmmmm.... some completely new toys or trade up and get a new/better paper trimmer?

I would go for the nesties. Depending on whether you have any now you could get them at HL with the 40% off coupon this week but very limited in what they carry. Or check out cutathome.com and if you sign up for the VIP (its free) you get 40% off one item.
