How do you make holes in ribbon?
I tried to use my Silent Setter punch to make holes for eyelets and it would NOT work! Yet I see brads and eyelets in ribbon all the time. How are you doing it?

I use my Click It eyelet setter/hole punch and haven't had a problem at all. I think another option might be to use a VERY fine tipped scissors and clip a TINY hole in it and slip the brad or eyelet through it...just a thought ;-)

I use a hand held hole punch (like sneff said... 'works great!' even for ribbon I've folded in half)

If you are going to set an eyelet or snap, try cutting a little slit with very sharp (paper snips, cutter bee) scissors. That way the hole's not so big that the eyelet pops out before you set it.

That's a VERY good idea! I use the Silent Setter though and don't have any trouble.

I'll have to try snipping the ribbon w/ scissors. I use the 1/16 hole punch as well but I find that it often frays the ribbon....

Do you think putting a little scrap of paper on the ribbon where you want to put the hole would help make the cut clean? I have a silent setter and now I'm worried that mine will do waht yours is doing. (the zipper on the pretty case is already busted :( )

If you do any kind of sewing or needlework, you could also use a needle or even a pushpin to make a tiny hole.

On grosgrain or gingham: I used my paper piercer and wiggled it around a little bit. The brads went in ok as long as I could control the little legs.
I have used my 1/16 hole punch on regular sheer ribbon without any problems.

I use my silent setter too. You have to stand up, I have found, and I find that moving the ribbon rather than the setter works better. HTH.
