Hey ladies, was just wondering how exactly do you faux stitch?? Do you make the holes and then use a gel pen? Or do you actually hand stitch the holes in??? Thanks!
Yes, you use a paper piercer to punch the holes and then connect them (however you would like, straight, zigzag, etc.) with a gel pen or just a marker Of course you could always use actual thread too!
I love to faux-stitch using my paper piercing template from my mat pack! You just place it on your paper with the paper piercing pad underneath, and pierce away! Then you connect the dots with any kind of pen or marker.
You can find the mat pack on the bottom of p. 228 in the SU! catalog. It makes it so easy...I don't know what I did without it! I really like the Signo white gel pen that SU! sells too, it shows up good on any color cardstock.
For shapes that aren't square, I have also tried it without the holes, and that looks good too! Hope this helps!
Morning - actually I prefer to draw a line with my gel pen and then poke the holes. I find when I do it the other way, the gel pen sometimes fills in the holes. JMO. Hugs
Definately get the gel pen that SU offers, or find that exact brand in the store, as it makes a world of difference, I have about 20 different white gel pens that just do not work as good, once they are on the paper, the paper kind of absorbs the ink..not so with the SU one.
