Question HOW DO I DO IT!?

A lady at my DH's work wants me to make 10-20 quart size paint cans...GREAT! Except, she wants me to put handles on them! Any ideas on how to do this?? I have wracked my brain and every way I can think of would ruin the tool that I would be using to do this. Am I missing something? Also what would be the best material to use for the handle. Just a really thick wire, or again is there something better?
TIA!

Can't help you with attaching it to the can, but you can get handles for cigar box purses that would probably work on the paint can.

Default Here's an idea ...

I searched the gallery looking at paint cans and came across this one. It is a quart size can with a handle attached. Maybe you could do something like this person did. Good luck!

Drill 'em, or punch through 'em with an awl and a hammer. Careful, tho--you may end up with some rough edges on the inside?

Thick wire for the handles would be the most economical, probably.

I don't envy you that part of the task, I must say . . .
