I was a 2 peas addict. (Strictly a Scrapper at the time) When I got into stamping and SU! I started hanging out in the Stamping forum, there. Folks got annoyed with all the SU! talk and pointed the SU! enthusiasts here. I have never turned back.
I was invited here by Daven himself! He wanted me to start posting the Tearing Edge on SCS...at the time, I declined to do that, because not much seemed to be happening here (it was very early in the history of SCS,) But I registered and started checking in here now and again and pretty soon, I was SUCKED IN!!! (imagine massive tub-draining sucking sound and that about describes it!)
My demo sends out a monthly e-mail with ideas etc. and I followed some of her ideas that brought me here. Lurked for awhile before joining, now seem to be be constantly lost in the void!!
I had just bought some set or another and was googling to find ideas to use it and came across SCS! Then I had to share with all my other stamping friends because they'd never seen the site either.
I found it by doing a Google search for SU card galleries. I was amazed at what I had found. I mentioned it during a class at my demo's house and you think I had leaked trade secrets. She obviously did not want people to know about it. After a class I told a few stamping friends about it, while standing outside the demo's house so no one would hear. They became addicted also. After awhile we talked about it openly during classes, but I still think the demo was ticked off when we did.

I went with my Mom to a class at her upline's. She mentioned the site to my mom & I came home and turned on the computer. Hooked! Of course, I'd get so much more stamping done if I spent less time here! My mother claims I tell her/direct her to so much stuff on here, so doesn't need to bother searching the site herself.
Ok, now that amazes me! Why were you looking at stamps on ebay if you had never used one? LOL :p Were you searching for postage stamps? LOL
I'm sure you're glad that odd twist of fate got you here.

Funny you should ask... I was on Ebay buying stamps because I wanted to save money by making my own Christmas cards -which is a COMPLETE joke now that I know how much money I spend on stamping!. Anyway, the snowman and snowflake stamps at my LSS were VERY spendy, I thought I would check out the Bay. I bid on Frosty and checked out the other auctions the seller had to save on shipping. She linked the SCS gallery to her Heartfelt Thanks auction. One peek and that's all it took!
I am very glad of the twist of fate. My stamping has BLOSSOMED because of this site!! I am here every day!!
I stumbled across it one day and was drawn to the simplicity of the Home page and the ease of accessing the different aspects of the site. The fact that it had no advertising or pop-ups was a plus, too. Even though they now have adds, they are unintrusive and, more often than not, something I'd be interested in.
I became a member as soon as it became an option and have never regretted it! My stamping has improved exponentially, and I'm still learning every day! It's a great resource for all things stamping related.
Happy Heart! I'm so glad you found SCS, love all the stuff in your gallery, you are so talented, can't imagine you are still learning, LOL. And, wondering why you aren't a Dirty Girl.

I too was posting on the SU forums, searching for some ideas and heard about SCS there. Never bothered with the SU forums again!
I find it ironic how many people say they because demo's after finding SCS or how much more they spend after coming here, etc. yet Stampin' Up still seems to want to pretend this site doesn't exist or give credit where credit is due. Frankly, I think SU owes a commission to Daven and Tracy!
My thoughts as well, much of the chat and especially the galleries here generate a lot of sales for SU and some other companies as well, free marketing. I'm glad they have support from advertisers on this site to keep it running. The ads are not obtrusive like some other sites I've seen.

That's so sad, I know there are demos who don't like to tell their customers about this site, but I think it really helps to boost sales. Maybe if she hears you and some others saying you bought a set because of what you saw here, it will open her eyes. Haha, I think it helps alleviate any guilt I feel about how much money I've spent over the years on this hobby. I know I'm not alone and really just a middle of the road addict (it's always nice to know there are crazier, more fabulous stampers out there... okay, sometimes I'm a little jealous). :p

Heehee, yeah, we've all been there. But, you know, stamping is so much cheaper than seeing a therapist, that's why I like to think of it as "art therapy". With two little ones, you need some R&R for yourself, by stamping and coming here.

A fellow stamper and friend at work told me about SCS. I had been stamping for 1 1/2 years and could not come up with any ideas other than whatever I made at a party. I was lamenting my lack of creativity to my friend, and she told me about this place.
The rest is history!
I had much more free time before I found this site! Now I can't get off of here!
I became an avid eBayer while on extended leave from work. After a year or so of this, I "won" Botanicals and Nature's Sketchbook from a seller who including gorgeous card fronts using the sets. When I emailed her to thank - I told her that maybe I should start looking for card fronts instead, because I didn't have anything done even close to these techniques. She encourage me to keep at it and told me to check out SCS.
And - WOW! I found the homepage delightful and signed up for the fan club right away. What a great community of stamper/scrapbookers this is.

"Stay" is a charming word in a friend's vocabulary.
My then-demo told me I could Google SU stamp sets to get ideas. So I did. :-) There were several hits from a place called Splitcoaststampers, and the rest is history! SCS is the reason I'm a demo.
I am a very visual learner- I need to see it to put things into perspective. I found a site that Beate lead on a yahoo board, and I love the ***best*** so I joined her yahoo group and found SCS after that. I joined early- even my demo hd never heard of this site- there were less than 3000 members when I joined! I have seen this site really, really grow! Don't know what I would do without the 'visuals' I get here. Although I do not join in regularly, I LOVE the challenges!!!
And by the way, can you go to a stamp camp where there are new stampers and keep your mouth shut about SCS??? Don't you have a burning desire to let everyone that stamps know about this site!!! LOL
I decided to become a demo when I was addicted became addicted to stamping and one late night I was looking online for anything stamping related. I was reading the Two Peas forum and they mentioned SCS so I came over and joined immediately. It strikes me as being funny that I joined before the big burst and my postings are as high as some and I'm on this site constantly--it's on at work all the time and dh complains that I'm on SCS more than I talk to him or the family :-)
Ironically, I got my upline, up-upline, sidelines, and downline into SCS as well. I have no customers but I have no problem sharing the wealth with others.

My SU Demo sent me over here. I was quickly addicted. It is how I found out about TAC and now I'm an Angel. Don't worry ladies I still buy SU. I just have more money to use on both.
My old upline swears she mentioned it to me before I found it searchin' the web, but I must've been spacing off when she did!
I went straight to the gallery and literally spend days in there (read: no dishes done, no laundry folded; kids? I have kids? DH is capable of making his own dinner, right?) Seriously, it was an instant addiction for me. After a couple weeks I discovered that there were actually forums and chattin' goin on here!!! I finally registered and here I am over 2 years later.
I was looking up SU ideas and I discovered this place. I'm not on as long as I would like to be, but I'm on here more than I should be. You should see my house..lol

My awesome DEMO from California told me about this site and OMG I loved it & joined the same day. I have met the bestest ladies here and of course the Gallery ROC's..
My mother was visiting and we attended a pay for four projects class with the girl I met through a class at Joann's. Her helper mentioned SCS, which we quickly wrote down on scratch paper. A few days later I looked it up and called my sister who is a demo and told her about it. We chat on the phone all the time while looking things up on SCS.....we are in different states. Now I am here almost daily....very addictive and fabulous site!! Thank goodness for SCS.....I have learned so much here.
I found SCS from stampin' discuss. It's a discussion board on the SU demo website. That was over 3 years ago and this site has changed a ton in that time! I still love it though! There is nothing else like this site out there.
