Default And the holida trend is....

Now that the holiday merchandise is in the stores and up on the websites, I would have to say that the big holiday trend this year seems to be Nordic. Basic Grey, Hero Arts, Amuse, Waltzingmouse Stamps. Everyone has some variation on this theme.

Anyone else spot a holiday trend?

Because most of the stores around me are still getting stuff out (they're always late compared to other areas), I haven't seen much of any overall trends yet, but the Nordic trend you're speaking of actually started a few years ago, although just barely. I hope you're right and I start seeing more of the Nordic theme. It'll be a nice change from what's been available overall for the last few years. Plus, having relatives from that area of the world, it'll be easier to stuff to make gifts with.

Default Holiday!

grrr, where's the edit button? That was supposed to be holiday!

I like the Nordic look, too. Might have to cave and buy a little for holiday crafting!

I like it too--it reminds me of warm woolly sweaters and hot chocolate! And I love that it can be for Christmas, Winter or any Winter Holiday card.

I got the Nordic Noel set from A Muse Studio and I really love it!

I've seen a lot of that Nordic look too. Can't say I'm a huge fan, it reminds me of cross-stitching....

The one trend I've seen in a bunch of different places is the old-fashioned Christmas tree decorations.. I know I saw a few last year, but I've seen them in many different forms this year (spellbinders, stickers, papers, stamps etc..) and I think it's great!

There are also a lot of papers/stamps with the vintage-looking Santa. The funny thing about that trend is those Santas can either look happy/cheerful, or really scary! haha..

ps... I teach high school band/choir and I just had a class full of students wearing Nordic patterned boots, sweaters, toques and scarves.. You know it's a BIG trend when it's EVERYWHERE, not just in our craft. lol

just ordered Waltzingmouse's Nordic set and can't wait to use it. I love that style.

I haven't noticed any holiday anything in the stores and I was at the mall the other day. Hmm...

I love the Nordic look (!00% Scandinavian so it's a given) and I hope to be able to buy some new decorations soon. In cards and gift wrap, I have noticed lots and lots of glitter and foil accents. Concerning color combinations, it seems like this year is "anything goes." I love Christmas -- only 61 more days!

Martha Stewart also has an entire line of Scandinavian paper crafting items.

Got my Hanna Andersson catalog today, and their look is Nordic all the time!

I have a SU set - I think it was a SAB set - that is pretty nordic. Maybe I'll use it for my Christmas cards this year and be "in"!

Just got back from Target, and saw a lot of Nordic in their holiday home section.

I am looking or Nordic pattern Polar Fleece for a few projects! This will be great!

Mary Rose, I am very fond of their Lapland With Love Sweater Coat! I think that is my Fall *must have* this year!

They are opening a Hanna Andersson store in my area next month! woo hoo! That sweater coat is lovely. Those metal toggles are like jewelry! Hanna clothes are such high quality. I wear mine year after year.

I just received the latest Joann's ad, and there are all kinds of Nordic-look products--ceramic cups and plates, napkins, gift bags, ornaments, etc. I love the Waltzingmouse Nordic stamps. I've seen some beautiful cards made with it.
