Hodgepodge Hardware Hang-Up
It seems that I use certain pieces of my hodgepodge hardware more than others. I run out of some stuff way too quickly and other pieces just sit there in a big pile because I don't love using them. Anyone else experience this? I sure do wish SU! would just sell replacement pieces for the hodgepodge sets. I think I need to find someone who doesn't love to use what I love to use and switch with them.

I bought the kit last year. I was really surprised AND disappointed this year, that they didn't offer the different types of pieces to buy, without buying the whole set again. LM :-)
I'm still way too stingy with them and only use them on "special" cards, but I've used pretty much every type in the box. I think selling the individual refills would really help demos the most. I'm not one, but I imagine it would be hard to use them in stamp-a-stacks, etc. if you had more than a few people, but using them is the best way to sell them. So I just don't get why SU is holding out on this...
I am stingy with these pieces, as well! I find that I only use them on things that I feel pretty certain the recipient will keep, like framed art. I also wish that the pieces could be purchased seperately. I would probably use them more if I felt that the pristine condition of my kit would not be compromised by missing pieces, lol!

i had NEVER used hodgepodge until recently! i was AMAZED at how it just made the cards! i love them all but i'm especially partial to the label holders, and the ribbon charms
I tend to save them for special cards as well. But I understand that SU could not sell them individually at such a good deal as the HH as a whole. It's simply not cost-effective for them to do that.
I am among those who have challenged themselves to learn to use the pieces that don't come easily to me... altho my main motivation was to use up the kit so I could justify buying another one for my favorite pieces

I have worries about mailing cards with hardware on them. I keep thinking they are going to snag up and rip the envelopes open. :-P But I do use them when I have them.
I also wish you could purchase the pieces separately, because I can't find the ribbon charms at other craft locations! Have any of you seen them apart from SU?
I voted for the label holders...I love the various shapes, but now that we have the oval punches to fit, I'm wishing there were about 50 of the oval label holders alone! I also find myself using the brads on their own...which may present a problem if/when I ever get around to using the rest of the hardware that requires brads to affix!
I *might* consider giving the pieces away as a door prize at a workshop...someone else's problem then! But, alas, as soon as I decide I don't want them anymore someone will come up with an innovative way to use the piece in a card.
For now they'll continue to fill up their little cubbie in the kit
This is exactly why I haven't bought it! I have used it at my demo's and love everything I made with the pieces. But the thought of using even one piece and NEVER EVER being able to get another one without buying another kit, well...........you know!
(If you are reading this thread, you know exactly what I am talking about!)

I, too, only use the hardware for "special" people - who I know would truly appreciate it. I have never mailed a card with hardware - I am always too afraid something will happen in the mail...???
I design my cards for the joy that it brings me so I really just put on what I think the card needs most. I don't really think about who is hardware "worthy"... or whether they will appreciate it or not...I just make what makes me feel happy to make if that makes sense. I voted for use them all but I do go in phases. The label holders tend to go first and the buckles last if that helps. why not challenge yourself to use the other pieces?
It's the brads I want more of. I tend to save them for the pieces they are needed for attaching, but really want to use them as cute accents by themselves way more then I can.
I use the photo anchors the most as well as the wire shapes... I love the brads too and wished I could get them in those colours individually. As to the individual pricing, I don't really care if it's not as cheap as the kit. Generally, most things are that way. If you buy bulk, it's always cheaper! I would love it if they made refills available!
I did some looking and found you can get most of the hardware at other sources. I love the little ribbon fasteners, and found them at Paper Wishes 24 for 3.49. Shipping stinks unless you have a coupon code, but oh well...
I like the oval ones, and I have used them all up! I am bummed because I bought the punches, and now have no ovals left to use them with! bummer! I have many of the other pieces left though, that I can't justify buying another kit!

I should probably challenge myself to use all my pieces, but I often don't feel creative enough. What I should do is look through the gallery and see what all the brilliant gals on here have done with them. But, then it comes back to the lazy thing. Oh....the conundrum!
