Rubber stamps are on sale this week... paper is 50% off this week... print off a coupon before you go in case you get a non sale item and if you have an ad from another craft store hobby lobby will price match for the same item ... lots of people at our store have been getting Christmas ornaments since they are half off and I think wrapping paper is still on sale also.
If I need anything craft/stamping related, I always go to Hobby Lobby first. They have great variety, and I think their prices are usually cheaper than Jo-Anns or Michael's, plus everything is always 40-50% off or you can use the 40% coupon...usually they are available every other week, but it has been every week lately (probably for the holidays). My kids love the store too.
The Hobby Lobby near me has a much better selection of single sheet designer paper then the Joann's or Michaels. I'm learning to go there first for paper.
Paper Studio brand embellishments (they go on sale a lot)
paper (also on sale a lot!)
Cuttlebug stuff
rubber stamps
adhesive
ribbon by the yard
Wilton products

I think last year they also had the 40% coupons weekly during the holidays rather than bi-weekly like the rest of the year. You can sign up to get an email of the specials and coupon which saves you a trip to the store or buying the Sunday paper. Periodically, they have 50% off stamps, papers and ink pads so if you can be patient you can get a better deal. Their selection is about comparable to Michael's plus they have some stuff that Michael's (at least ours) doesn't sell like the Tim Holtz Distress ink pads for example. I think they tend to have a larger Clearance area too with better prices than Michael's.
And if you are looking for stuff other than crafting - they have great prices - especially now on Christmas decorating items, etc.
They mark theirs down to get ride of it BEFORE Christmas rather than after.
I also get patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket and Basic Gray. Those little sticky half pearls. Hat pins and beads. All of my Tim Holtz pads. I love that place.
I think the answer to this question is what CAN'T you get at Hobby Lobby!! The closest town with craft stores for me is Carbondale Illinois and they closed the Michaels, and the JoAnns is pitiful when it comes to its scrapbooking stuff!! The Hobby Lobby however is fabulous!! They always have great sales, and the 40% off coupons are always a plus!! I agree with the others that I go there first for patterend paper, unless I am near an Archivers!! I get all my Cuttlebug stuff there and I have bought a ton of stamps and paper and ribbon there. Have fun buying your goodies!!
It's the best place to get Basic Grey. I can always get it at Half Off! Plus, they just started carrying some QuicKutz dies and tools. You can get those with the 40% off coupon!!! Love that!
Oh Amanda they have some really neat papers. I love their brads too. Just got some red & green small ones, pearl brads, an assortment of pink/white/red tiny hearts for valentines. Most of the time their spools of ribbon are on sale 50% off. Oh my gosh.........the list goes one.
If you don't want stamp related. I bought my living room lamp and both pillows in there for the price of what the lamp would cost because they were all half price. I got a neat decorative pot for my front bathroom too. Yes, they have TONS of stuff.
The Hobby Lobby by me sells Copic markers. I've used the 40% off coupon to buy them and am slowly building my collection. The selection is not that great, but so far I got the basics, like the cool grey for shadows and E00 for flesh tones.
Cosmo Cricket and Basic Grey paper packs, My Minds Eye Paper, cuttlebug embossing folders and die cuts, Copic Markers, Prisma colored pencils and markers, watercolor paper, Brads, chipboard, holiday decorations, got some fall scarecrows for 1.49 each, originally 14.99, 90% discount. Love to go there more than Michaels.
I just checked the Hobby Lobby website & am quite sad to find out that there are no HL's in Washington States which is the closest US state to me here in BC
You guys make Hobby Lobby sound fantastic & will have to visit one next time I visit a state that has one!
