Thanks for the laughs and support, ladies! Just when I thought all hope was lost, I realize my sickness is not that bad compared to some of you!!!!
If anyone comes up with a challenge for cards using DSP, let me know!! I too can't resist everytime it's on sale. In fact, this weekend, Archiver's here in Appleton has a huge sale, including DSP. What I try to do when I buy DSP, however, is to take the time to buy coordinating cardstock (only 1,2 sheets) and keep it all together for a later date. Then, I don't have to hunt for matching cardstock to layer it with.
My problem with patterned paper is that I buy only what I love, and then because I love it, I don't want to use it up, because then it will be gone. So I just buy and store paper. The good thing about stamps you love is that you can use them over and over, and they never get used up.
Dear fellow addicts...oops I mean paper collectors ;).... I joined in the latest Sketch Challenge today....and I used 3 different brand new dp's...I am so proud of myself..I cut into 3 different dp..for 1 card...:-D

Check out Sharon Rogers' blog; she seems to use a lot of DSP and her cards are so great!

i'm gonna TRY to limit myself to about 2 packs of SU!'s DSP... i just HAVE to have the holiday lounge!
but if they do the buy 3 get one free... i will prolly end up with about 6!
You read my mind, girl! I really want the Razzleberry Lemonade...and I'm sure they'll be some in the Holiday mini I'll want. It's a constant battle to resist it all!
I love pretty papers too! Now truly, who doesn't? My rule though, is that I buy by the sheet. For a swap, I buy a few sheets extra. For a project I only buy one or two sheets at a time. MY SU demo I don't see very often, so I don't buy the gorgeous packs I see all the time, but I do have them on my wishlist. I wouldn't mind having several sets, but I still feel like I am rather new at card making. I am always having a hard time selecting what I want to buy first! I have been at this wonderful craft for just over a year now. I am just seeing how addicting supplies and paper are becoming!
Like a person mentioned before, my hubby also keeps me grounded so I don't go overboard, but I am allowed freedom within my budget amount, and every now and then I have some extra money to use--I can buy mostly what I want within reason.
I like my own rule of buying by the sheet because then I buy only what I need. I have a lovely but smallish collection compared to the standards I see mentioned here!
Basic Grey is awesome, I am glad I can get that easily enough! I have a few brand packs and love having them, but my space for crafting is very small, so my storage is limited too so that limits my paper buying naturally.
I guess we all do what we love the most. I love going to the specialty shops in my area and drooling over their papers, and I usually buy several sheets of pretty paper, but I do keep the limit down because I know I don't have the space, and I know I can't possibly use it all.
Someone mentioned in a ribbon hoarding thread, to go ahead and use that ribbon up! They always make more! I try to keep that in mind with my own supplies, but we do hoard what we think is pretty, we just can't help ourselves!
I have 2 tubs with my plain cardstock in hanging folders, plus my stash of extras in a cabinet.
I have 1 tub with Deisgner paper, and it is packed full.
I have about 6-8 packs of SU dp on my wish list yet!!!
My goal is to have all of my scrapbooking (20+ years) done plus my card making!! I'm sure I'll need more paper!!

I have at LEAST two floor to ceiling piles of paper. My hubby built me a shelf and it is full (tall shelf) then I have high piles in other places. I use a lot with all my many projects but dont think I would ever use all I have in a lifetime. The new Basic Greys should be on my doorstep any day. I also love SU and order a lot of that. I have lots of the stacks.
blessings.
If I was closer, I'd be at your house right now to play!
I keep seeing people have too much paper & don't know if they ever use it all up. I'm in a different situation, i have used alot of my stash up to make cards for gifts, church & to start 2nd round of cards for the soldiers
:(DH said I can't have anymore supplies this summer. I've have chronic health problems etc.,h/bound w/ 0-2. My asthma & heat are keeping me in. My med's & bills even w/ insurance eat us up. Plus HP still has on a 5% pay cut. . would anyone be willing to share any of their paper they don't want for some of my cards I want to make for my next batch of cards to go to Iraq? I use PP on my c/stock for mydesigns. My c/making is my sanity valve as my body falls apart. Making cards helps me forget my problems & do s/thing nice for someone else.
My blog is @ glograbear.blogspot.com, if U want to leave comments on my chatbox there. Also my Flicker tag & slideshow show some of my cards. I don't have a camera so alot of my cards aren't there I did 30+ cards for my DD b-day for her 30 th b-day in April. I don't waste a/thing:cool:

I know what you mean. I was at JoAnn's a few weeks ago. The dsp that is normally 1 for 69 cents was on sale 6 sheets for 89 cents. I must have picked up about 100 sheets. I was just SAVING so much money.
And I would love to have you come play..you would not believe the paper that I have..and I have 4 more large boxes coming this Wednesday from my special friend that sends me all the new stuff. I use so much though while making cards for the troops, the church and two swim teams...constantly using paper but the piles just keep gettting bigger...
blessings.
