I hope I am posting this in the right forum. If not I am truly sorry!
My children have requested cash from me for Christmas this year, with the plan that we, as a family go out to lunch and shopping some time after Christmas.
I am stuck on finding cute, creative, inexpensive ways to wrap up their cash. I am looking for about 3 different ideas, as I don't want to give it to them all at once either. Inexpensive because when you have to multiply everything by 5, stuff gets pricey real quick.
So if anyone has ideas to share with me that would be fantastic.
I should also mention I am really new to paper crafts/stamping/scrapbooking...just started about 2 weeks ago. And if it helps I need ideas for 3 boys ages 15, 11 and 6 as well as 2 girls ages 13 and 9.
Maybe this sounds lame, but my mom used to add things to our gifts to throw us off. She'd put in a box of macaroni and cheese or a can of soup, or put something in a cereal box.
Imagine the surprise if they open a mac and cheese box with the cash taped to it!
I would make each of them wallets themed to their interest (or what you would like them to spend the cash on!)
As you are so new to this, Google "free digi stamps" and see what you can download to use.
I'm sure anything you make will be appreciated by them.

That's quite funny!
I'm thinking of wrapping a jellomold this year a la National Lampoon's Christmas vacation (thought I would forego the cat) for the hubby to open
As for the OT - if you have time to "re-bank" the money - one year I gave my nephew money and got it all in coins and taped them randomly to the inside of the box - he found them all! -
I did the cash book one year. You stack it up with a cardboard backing and cover (I added notes too) and use the notepad glue. Then they can rip out each bill as they spend.
I use the small pull top fruit cocktail cans. You open the bottom of the can with a safety can opener, stuff whatever you want inside, glue the bottom on, and decorate. The recepient then has to open the can with the pull ring. I sold a ton of these at the holiday boutiques that I participate in. ( of course I didn't glue the bottom on) I buy the cans at Costco.
One year my son told my mom he wanted a box full of money. She used all singles and put them in a box with styrofoam peanuts and small candy. It took him a while to dig thru it all to find the money, but he's 19 now and says this is still one of his most favorite gifts.
I gave cash to my hubby last year for his birthday and stuff the bills into a bunch of balloons and stuffed them in a great big box. He had to pop all the balloons to find his winnings.
I wanted to fill them with helium so they would float out of the box but I didn't want to spend $30 for a tank.
If you check out the Technique section of the challenge forum (Mondays), two or three weeks ago was a little Christmas sock gift-card/money holder. There was a template to print, and if you have some pretty paper to cover it with, there is little skill or equipment required to produce a lovely looking result. Forums at Splitcoaststampers
