Default Help with craft ink...

Hi,
My daughter and I just used SU craft ink to stamp a few walls. I'd read it would work fine somewhere. Now I'm reading and finding that the ink WON'T dry. It's been four days and the ink is still a little sticky. Is there any way to save this project? Will it eventually dry? If I have to wash it all off and start over with Staz On ...we can but I think we'll cry ;) It looks too cute to start over.

We used navy, white and chocolate chip colors...the white is staying the stickiest...the blue is almost dry and the choc chip is somewhere in between. It would be too big a job to try dabbing the inks with clear embossing powder. I'm also worried the heat gun may hurt the normal paint job.

Thanks in advance,
Micayla

I'm sorry but I don't have an answer to your problem. I just wanted to wish you luck with this and I hope it eventually dries so you do not have to remove and repaint it!

I see you only have 3 posts but have been around for a while. Me too! I lurke a lot but that's about it. I just posted a question too, which I rarely do!

Again, good luck with your project!!

it might be the humidity! that is, if where you are it gets humid. i noticed that in the summer, any pigment ink i use tends to take FOREVER to dry, on paper even.
i would avoid the heat gun. though, maybe a hairdryer set on low? cause the heat wouldn't be as intense that way.

Since you can use a heat gun to strip paint, definitely avoid it! I would try a fan, and failing that, a hair dryer on cool or low.

It will never dry, sad to say, if the wall was painted in any way. You need to use a craft paint for best results when stamping on painted walls.

Ok, thanks to all...I'm going to let it set for a while and see what happens...all else fails, I can wash it all off and do-over with craft paint :(

Hi Anna, no I don't post often but I love to see all the great ideas in the gallery. Some of the projects really take some imagination and I have to try it myself

Wish I had read up on wall decor BEFORE we decided to play with our stamps!

Best to all, Micayla
