We are hoping to come over to New York, beginning of December for a week. Please could you recommend any card making or jewellery making shops to visit. I believe many craft items are alot cheaper in USA. Also if I wanted to get any stampin up products, what is the best way to do this?
Are there any New York ladies on here I could message if I have any further questions?
I hope someone from the area chimes in. As for Stampin Up if you go to the main SU site you can find a demonstrator and contact someone who you could place an order through and meet up to pick it up I would think.
I second the inkpad. It is tiny space wise, but packed with goodies.. The staff is very knowledgeable. Check out their website Home Maybe they will having a class when you visit. They hold them at the store or sometimes the community center. Check out Michael's and AC Moore if you are looking to save money...they are large stores where they have sales etc. Enjoy NYC....There is nothing like it anywhere.
Another vote for the Inkpad. They recently moved into a slightly larger store, but they pack a lot of goodies into a small space. I find unique items every time I go there. I love NYC, I hope you really enjoy your trip. (December in NYC is usually extra busy, but you can't beat the Christmas decorations and atmosphere)
Where in NY are you going to be? I teach in a scrapbook store on Long Island, and there is another very good one near it. There is a fabulous stamp store in CT, just 45 minutes from me (in the Bronx). I haven't been to the new Ink Pad, but the old store was fabulous. If you'd like, and if our schedules permit, maybe we could meet up. I'd love to meet another SCSer. BTW, there's nothing like New York City during the holiday season.

By any chance are you referring to The Great American Stamp Store in Westport?
Lots of fond memories -- this is where I got started in papercrafting (it's where I took my first class). Until five years ago, we lived 35 minutes away from the store, and I've missed it. I get down there for a visit a couple of times a year, and I always enjoy it!
