Hello. I found this site through the SU stampin Discuss and I have been reading for I guess a week or two now. Also another gal (Jan Tink) I saw posting I know from another msg board so I thought I better come out of the woodwork and say Hello.
This is a great site. Soooo much information and ideas.
A little about me, my name is Renee Furphy I am 33 (almost 34 :? ) a sahm my baby will be starting kdgn in Aug. I married my high school sweetheart we have three kiddos. WE both grew up in NJ, but moved to Ga 3 yrs ago. I become a demo last yr and jumped in with both feet. I think I overwhelmed myself and am pulling back for the summer to reevaluate. I think I am leaning towards doing it as a hobbyist and having an occasional stamp camp or stamp a stack. Not totally sure yet. So with that I recently went through my inventory and shocked myself at what I have "collected" :P in just a years time.
I am sure I will post often as I will most definatly have some questions.
Thank you for all the work that is poured into these really neat place!
I'm in GA, too, actually in Sugar Hill, which is NE Atlanta. Do you mind sharing where you are? You'll love this site; it is honestly the best site around for anyone interested in SU! I have 2 boys, and my youngest is going into 1st grade next year; my other DS is going into 4th.
Hi Renee!! I'm new here, too ... and in Georgia. I'm in the western part - Douglasville. I think this site is great, too, and I love the ideas and tutorials I've found!
Ok I haven't left my chair except to throw dinner in the oven, but I have been browsing the gallery. So overwhelming.
Suthnheart you are in Sugar Hill? You are not far from me at all! I am in Cumming, but the very south part of it, Alpharetta is right across the street. I don't know if I have it so I can email from here or not, but I will try to email you.
OMW! I go to church in Cumming! Wow! Small world! We'll have to figure out a way to meet! I just can't believe it; I haven't found anyone else on the site from this area!
No way??? Which church? We actually go to North Point. I have a friend whose husband is in ministry in one of the churches in Cumming, but I don't know which church it is. We will most definatly have to meet. I will email you.
I don't know if you noticed my other post about having lived in Charleston, but I know LOTS of very nice, talented stamping ladies in Charleston/Summerville that would be happy to stamp with you - email me at [email protected] and I will be happy to steer you to them!
I grew up in Douglasville. Our family is still there and we visit from time to time. I used to live on Kings Hwy. back when I-20 stopped at Hwy. 5!!! Now you can figure out just how OLD I am!!!
That's too funny Sharon! I have lived in Douglas County since I was 3. I grew up in Lithia. Now, we live off of Hwy. 166 ... and it's still in the middle of nowhere! LOL!
Wish you were still out this way. I'd love to have someone to stamp with!
I haven't been to Lithia recently, but I am amazed every time I visit D'ville at how big it has grown. The closest mall when I was growing up was Cumberland - and now D'ville has its very own!! Still has a "small town" atmosphere though - and I bump into people I know every time I'm there.
Renee is just as nutty about stamping as I am! She'll fit right in! I'm just jealous up here in Michigan that you guys will get to hang out with her! Well, we'll just keep talking on the phone...we can do that for hours, LOL!
Yeah ... it is really grown up. The traffic is awful on Hwy. 5 and Chapel Hill. I love having a mall right here ... but we lost our only scrapping store. That was a bummer. Lithia has grown up a lot, too, especially when you consider that it was NOTHING several years ago.
Shell, I don't know what I heard, just the names of different towns that you hear. I can't remember anything I am surprised I remember the ideas that I keep floating in my head till I actually get them out!
(That is only because if I write them down somewhere then I loose the paper or notepad and I would have to remember where I put it!),
We did finally get to SIX FLAGS last Oct. I think that will be something we do in Oct it is just to hot any other time. We did go to White Water on Monday it was sooo much fun too and with the threat of storms all day it kept the crowds away and we got on everything several times. The thunderstorm came as we were getting in the car to leave at about 6:00 Perfect timing and a perfect day!
Hey Jan, did I read on the other board that you were going to Convention??? Oh I sooo have to figure out a way to go now!
Suthnheart I met Jan on another msg board in it they have an "activities" section so someone started a rubber stamping thread and it grew from there and then there was a monthly swap which I did for about 2 years, then I had to pull back a bit. I still post over there, but not as much as I used too.
Did you get the email I sent you?
I am going to go look for some info on themini tiles now!
Yes, I am going! My upline, her sister who lives in Connecticut, one of my recruits and I are all sharing a room, then some of the others in our downline group are going as well, so we are going to have a great time! We are all going blue!
I didn't get an email from you :( Was it a PM? I checked my inbox here at splitcoast and didn't have one. If you want to email me direct my address is [email protected] .
