Question Hanging a star book?

I have just made a 5 point star book (which I am very pleased with) but the instructions I used suggest it can be hung up. It tells you to make a loop at the top of some lengths of ribbon then thread them through the pages from top to bottom, also suggesting you put beads on to weight it. Call me thick but I can't see how this will hold the book to hang....the gaps in the star are surely wide enough for ribbon and beads, unless they are HUGE, to slide through. Any advice please?

I can't really picture what you mean. I've attached a picture of a hanging star book. I hope it helps.
Hugs.
