I don't know if anyone else has encountered this or anyone can answer this question for me but....
I don't always have the money to purchase stamps (as I am sure I can't be the only one) at their release date so I make a wishlist. When I have some money I go to my wishlists and pick and choose where and what I want to purchase at that time.
A few weeks ago I made a new list for TGF....currently they have a free shipping special so I thought of ordering and referred to my wishlist only to go to the site and find two of the sets not there. I searched and it told me "nothing matching description" or something along those lines. These are relatively new sets....I don't wait a year or more to order. One of them was a Christmas set. Christmas was just a little less then two months ago...I still buy Christmas stamps even though Christmas is over.
So my question is....is there a rhyme or reason to their retiring images or stamps?
Do they announce this somewhere that I am missing? I sub to the Splendid Stamping blog and haven't ever seen a retirement announcement or a limited stock on hand purchase now announcement.
Do they decide to only carry so many images or stamps at a time? Cause this is not the only time this has happened. :(
I kinda feel as if this is forcing people to purchase when they release (regardless if you can afford it) for fear of them up and retiring them without notice then you are out any images or stamps you had your heart set on.
Am I the only one that feels a little disappointed about this? Can someone explain a rhythm or system they have for this?
I would suggest emailing TGF and asking them. I have purchased from them for over a year and they are always very quick to answer my questions, and in line with the shipping times they promise. I did notice that a lot of their images are gone recently, even from a retail standpoint. But then if they are not selling very well it is costly to keep producing and stocking them, so they may have retired some images.
I find that TGF images are out of stock frequently no matter what website I go to buy them from. I've been wanting to order from All That Scraps for ages but soooo much of their stuff is waitlisted it's crazy.
You could post a ISO listing here in the BST forum. You may find someone who has the Christmas set you want and would be willing to sell it since they used it this past year.
TGF do retire their stamps but don't announce it. I believe if stock runs out and they decide not to continue to restock, they just stop selling the stamps. You may want to suggest an retirement announcement.

I understand the not stocking stamps that don't sell but wouldn't you at least make an announcement?

Yes I have noticed this too. All That Scraps has "waitlist" a lot on a ton of different companies items. :( But on a few of those I noticed too aren't even on the TGF site anymore so that tells me that All That Scraps won't be getting them either so customers are disappointed from that site also. :(

I think I might if I can't find it on another site. Thank you.

I did just make that suggestion in my last email to them LOL
Jessica from TGF here popping in to read/respond Thanks for your suggestions and most importantly for letting us know you had concerns via email as opposed to SCS-we're not always around on here although want to make more regular appearances and don't always know you've posted here.
In fact, it wasn't until it was graciously pointed out to me via email that this thread had even been started that I could assure your concerns.
We definitely are considering annoucning a retirement list during our newsletters from now on. Our newsletters are released each month on the 15th so a.) you'd have two weeks at a minimum to know if and when a set was clearanced, and b.) it would be a regular set date for those kinds of announcements.
That being said, we usually don't discontinue a set w/out clearancing it first, which usually has given our customers plenty of time to make their purchases and be aware that it would soon be discontinued. Based on sales trending reports that are run each month, or seasonal items, we make this decision accordingly.
I hope that helps? But thanks again for voicing your concerns as we only want a better TGF for everyone If you have further suggestions, you can always email myself at [email protected] or through the TGF site directly. Thanks so much friends!

Hi Jessica, thank you so much for coming on and explaining. I did email last night but the site might've lost it if you had to shut it down for maintenance. I just feel so bad bothering you with emails from me. LOL
I would so appreciate the announcement and would make purchases accordingly as I love a ton of the stamps and digis.
Thanks again for taking the time to come on and post.
No problem! Thats what I'm here for! I'm just sorry I didn't see it sooner And no worries on emailing-altho I must admit I feel terrible we've been a bit behind this week answering them because I've been a bit under the weather and Marie has been buried under new boxes of rubber, LOL! But we will def. figure something out for announcements in the future and I'm SO glad you love our stamps! Thanks so much!
Jessica

Sometimes when I'm looking for retired sets I check out the other retailers who sell TGF.
I found that this place appears to still have xmas sweeties in stock if that's the one you were looking for. HERE
The ISO list is also a nice choice too, as someone mentioned! Hope that helps!
And as Jess said, don't worry about emailing them, they are very personable and customer care is at the top of their list so they appreciate your emails!
