Glue pads left my stamps a mess.

Hi all,
I used Inkadinkadoos glue pad with the glue they enclosed. The glue will not come off of my rubber stamps. I have tried regular stamp cleaner, StazOn cleaner, & soap & wrm water & a toothbrush. Does anyone have a solution to remove this stcky mess from my stamps or are they a lost cause? I just bought the set & really hate to throw it out. I neede the glue to make Dazzeling Diamonds stick on a very intricate design. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks, Beth

Did you try something like Goo-Gone? I had the same issue, and a little spritz took the residue right off!!

I have that glue pad too. It's fabulous for where you need detailed glitter. You need to clean your stamp right away with your regular stamp cleaner - I usually do it before I even apply glitter. But if you wait and they're sticky, Ultra Clean will take it off. That stuff is a miracle.

Goo-Gone says on the label not to use on rubber. I would assume that eventually it would ruin the rubber.

You could also try Un-Du. I use that on just about everything.

I think things like the glue pads come under the same mantle as bleach and all those related things....which means...clean the stamp immediately after stamping the image...don't give it time to become tacky.

Don'y toss them yet, Beth....Someone will know what to do.

Too true! UC takes everything off! It's the wonder-cleaner, I swear!

If you can't find any UC near you, you might also try JudiKins Permanent and Fabric Ink Cleaner (it says solvent based on the packaging). Unfortunately, it's more difficult to find than UC. If you do find any of the JudiKins cleaner, work in a well-ventilated area--it's got fumes. Safety first. 'K? ;)

That stuff and UC are the two best stamp cleaners I have ever found in 15 years of stampin'.

I always keep Ranger Solvent stamp cleaner around for those tougher jobs, but it's also a little harder to find so I buy several at a time.

Default thanks

Thanks everyone for the great suggestions. We were working as a group on a project & the glue got left on the stamps. I will get to the store & look for the products mentioned. Hopefully something will work.

If nothing else works, try Simple Green. If you're uncomfortable using it full-strength, it dilutes well.
