Gift Tag Question

What do you think is best regarding gift tags.....
Should I put the To and From on the front or the back?
I an unsure since I plan to make the front into a winter scene, so the To/From will be in the middle of that.
Thoughts?

The back would be fine, as long as the tag is attached so it can easily be flipped over. I like a pretty tag, and wouldn't 'ruin" the scene with writing.

I agree with Lynkim. If you are going to attach with string.

If you want to just stick it down on a box-then of course you have to go with the front.

Maybe make them bigger if you go with the front? No rules on how big they are.

I go both ways with them, depending on the size and who I plan to give it to, If I want to write a note I put it on the back, if I want to have say the name on the front I tend to put it on a smaller tag and tie that to the fluffy ribbons or strings out of the main tags hole. so, the name or monogram is tied on. I think if you are mailing them and you want just the top of the tag to show because, you are firmly gluing this to something, then having space for the to from on the front could work really well also. I have a bunch of gift tag stamps that do it that way.

I make 2 different kinds of gift tags - one that is tied on a gift ribbon, or bag. The other is a small booklet in which the back is attached directly on the gift. I vary the sizes in keeping with the bag or gift size. I like to put small gifts in a larger box that I can decorate and tag. My To: From: go on the back of the tied tag and inside the booklet tag.

On my handmade tags, to make them reusable or so they can be hung as ornaments if the recipients want, I add a separate tag with the to/from. I just cut a small tag with a hole in the top, stamp the to/from & add the names (just with a pen), & thread some string through the hole. Then I just tie it to the main tag. The small tag can easily be removed. If I get the tags back myself, I can remove the small tag, put on a new one, & reuse it the following year.

As a habit, my gift tags have the To and From on the back.
I make hundreds of gift tags.
Works well. I always space them out a bit --some space between the To and the From --so as to leave room for large hand-writing or a small message too.

I do it both ways, sometimes to and from on front and sometimes on the back. If you do a search for gift tags here you will find plenty of pics.
