I was just at my local Office Depot and they have a lot of art stuff on clearance, and then take 75% off clearance!
I just bought my set last month, but they had the 120 prismacolor pencil set for $100, then 75% off!!! I almost bought another set just because it was such a good deal (it is in the old box, though, not the tin).
I got a six pack of metallic brush pens, a color wheel, stainless steel ruler, and a set of 12 watercolor crayons for $3.00! TOTAL!!! I also got a set of 10 straight edge razor blades for hubby...for $.06. When is the last time you've bought anything that costs $.06?
They also had watercolor pencils, other packs of prismacolor sketch pencils, markers, binders....all sorts of fun stuff! Obviously I can't vouch for all the office depots, but maybe you'll get lucky at yours!
Wow! You struck gold when you found these bargains! I did not realize that OD sold prismas...I just bought a set from ebay for a pretty good price ($52.99 + FREE shipping). I'll have to check if the one we have in town is Office Depot or Office Max.
Not to hijack the thread...If anyone else is not able to purchase the prismas at OD, I can recommend an ebay seller with 100% feedback. She normally lists only one auction at a time (it is a Buy It Now auction too so no anticipation whether you won or not).

mtgchic....The Office Depot in my area had the same kind of sales a few months ago, just before they closed up that store. They are closing select stores in certain locations. But the chain is not going out of business, just some stores closing.
I bit the bullet and packed up the kids and headed down the highway to the Office Depot. I scored the 120 piece Prismas for $50. Unfortunately when I got home and opened it it was missing three pencils. But it was still a good price and I never would have bought them otherwise.

I must have missed out because I went to three different ones today and nothing. Oh well! I'm happy for those of you who are finding them - they're fantastic!

Our office depot went out of business about a month ago. I kept checking as the weeks went on for their going out of business clearance. They never marked the art stuff down beyond 40% off. Sounds like you got lucky and got a great deal!
