Default A gentle suggestion

to those of you who use the BST forum and have a laundry list of items to sell. It would be so helpful if after you sold a set, you would edit your post and delete the item. I know I get very frustrated and move on if I see one of those.

thanks

I quite agree. If you spot the set you want, your hopes are quickly dashed when you see "sold" next to the set. I'd rather not see it listed. JMO

I'm so glad someone else was having the same thoughs... it aggrivates me to see "sold" or "Gone" next to an item. It's one thing to put pending, but if you're taking the time to put gone, then why not just delete the darn thing!

I agree. And the longer the list and more "pending," "sold," whatever, the hard it is to follow a list.

I agree...I think people don't realize that they can click ADVANCED to edit the title as well.

If something is pending I highlight it, remove it from the title, and then actually delete it when it's paid for.

I, too, get frustrated with searching the BST and having all these SOLD items show up in the list.

I was afraid to to kind of take away the record that I had a stamp available. For some reason. I am not really sure why though. Ha ha! I will go take them off.

Oh I remember why I was afraid to remove them....

As a swap mod, when we get reports on things we go back to the thread to research that the person was in the swap and what have you. If the hostess was to remove a person who didn't complete the swap from the 1st post we wouldn't have proof that they were ever in the swap. So I was keeping my sold items as proof that the item existed. I was thinking that if something got lost and a BST moderator was contacted they would go looking for the thread where I had the item for sale. But now I have deleted my sold items so I hope that doesn't turn out to be a problem.

or better yet, put them at the bottom of the list, soemtimes I have dealt
with a sale and the seller deleted it and when I wanted to recheck the price
she had deleted it. It would also be nice if buyers would list stamp sets they are requesting to save time for others so they don't request the same.

I change the colors for sold or pending items...I think that makes it easier to scroll through. Once it is rec'd by the buyer, then I remove it from the list. It's too much to keep track of otherwise, I would never remember. I SHOULD move sold to the bottom of the page, probably will do that when I ship tomorrow =)

I think moving it down to the bottom in a pending/sold category is a very good solution. I understand the need to keep it documented somewhere.

I suggest this to help people to sell your items. between all the available blogs etc - time is at a premium and if you cant quickly determine what is and isnt for sale - you will move on. I know I do.

thanks for listening

Can I also just say that I REALLY appreciate it when sets are alphabitized! Makes it easier for me to look for the sets I'm interested in. . . Just a thought

Changing the font color won't show up in the "preview" you get when hovering over a thread title -- that's why I add text that says whether an item is pending. If the transaction falls through, I'll go back and remove the notation.

I share the sentiments, it's very cumbersome to scroll through the list and then find that it's sold!

I totally agree! I usually am looking for particular sets when I'm shopping in the BST forums and it is sooo nice when folks alphabatize.

Yes, I change the font color and add the pending text.
