Hi everyone, I just used future floor wax in my aquapainters and did the Painted Pearls techique. I let the card dry overnight, and the pearl ex still rubs off with my finger. What am I doing wrong?
Maybe not enough wax? I have had problems controlling the flow with aquapainters before and getting too much or too little liquid. I just don't have the magic touch. I actually use paint pots to hold my floor wax (or you can just dip into the bottle) and use a cheapo paintbrush to apply. It gives me more control, especially on small areas.
Spray the finished piece with a light layer of hairspray - you will still get a bit of rub off but not too much - that is how I was taught when I learned pearl ex - not that I have done the technique since but that is how I was told to finish the piece - hope that is helpful to you.............
