Fun Stamping Question: What Do You Listen To When You Stamp
I thought I'd ask a fun question since I'm stamping right now, 9:01 am on the east coast. I'm doing cards for Cards for Heroes.
My answer: Green Day. My 13 yr old has gotten me addicted to them. Matthew and I have the same taste in music that my hubby does not share. In our case, it would be like mother like son, lol.
I just finished the entire Arrested Development series and listening to the commentary tracks on season 4.0 of Battlestar Galactica, so now I'm debating between Veronica Mars, Everwood, or Friday Night Lights. (Contrary to the shows listed, I really am over the age of 21!)
Sometimes I'll just put on an itunes playlist, normally filled with Zack Braff soundtracks, Vampire Weekend, and Todd Snider.
I am a news junkie, and I usually have a cable news channel going on the TV. I stamp in my living room on a game table, so I'm close to the kitchen, too!

My space is off the living room so usually someone is watching TV and I get what I get. If I have my choice, I put the satelite music on to my favorite Christian popular worship music. Gotta be upbeat though.
I stamp in my dining room which is off the living room in our open floor plan. So, I'm usually stuck listening to whatever bad movie DH has on. If I'm lucky enough to get him away from the TV, I prefer to have it off or watch my soaps which I am always falling behind on. lol
Oddly enough, I prefer to stamp in silence during the day but with background noise at night.
I usually watch tv; but really miss my reading this summer,
so have started listening to audio tapes; feels like I'm accomplishing two
things at once, and enjoying it

Usually country music is on. If everyone is asleep - then I stamp in silence or use my MP3 player. If the Redskins are playing, I will watch that - but I do have a hard time stamping and watching the game as I get a bit rowdy and have been known to mess up my stamping! Oh well, there are always commercials!
i usually have itunes blaring whatever hits me at that moment... sometimes it's country, rock, jazz, pop, rap, radio, hillbilly music you name it it's there... and i love it all... thanks for the question!
Wow! Looks like I'm amongst the few that don't listen/watch to anything while stamping. Don't like watching TV so that is out of the question. My craft corner is not in a position where I can easily listen to music but there was this one time that I used my laptop to play old indian (the country) songs. It did feel good - good of you girls to remind me - I should do that more often. I do talk to my hubby while doing my craft so I could say that I "listen" to him
Most of the time it's BBC Radio 4 for me. Occasionally if it's something I don't want to listen to, I'll opt for silence, or whatever music is saved to my hard drive. Because I WANT to listen to the radio, blogs with music bug me.
Audiobooks! Love love love them. Right now I am listening to the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, and The Good Earth (I alternate).
I just finished reading the Guernesy Literary and Potato Peel Pie book after reading about it on StampingQueenJAR's blog. I just loved it. I worked in Guernsey, once, so it brought back a lot of memories, too. But such a wonderful book!! DH loved it too, he was addicted after the first three pages.
I never think of audio books, even though we have the compete Sherlock Holmes on DVD. Must upload some of it - thanks for the idea.
i usually have my ipod/itunes on random. Sometimes I'll stick to some local artists or Vampire Weekend or the link, but usually just random. I bought a little ipod dock just for the stamp space so I don't have to drag my laptop over all the time.
Wow! What variety! If I'm stamping in front of the TV, then it's whatever's on. Preferably something that I don't have to pay complete attention to. Otherwise it's the radio or my iPod. Mostly alternative music, with some rock and pop mixed in.
Unless the kids are home and then I'm also listening to them bicker. The volume really goes up when all three of them are at it.
Wintertime: I can craft at the kitchen table and I'll usually have the TV on for company. I like old movies (TCM), TVLand, HGTV, Food Network.
Summertime: I have to craft in the basement and I don't have a TV in that particular room. So I'll either listen to the radio (oldies station) or my own CDs (1940s-1950s pop/jazz standards). If it's on the weekend, I might listen to certain shows on NPR like "Wait Wait Don't Tell Me" or "This American Life" or "The Splendid Table."
My stampin room is also off the living room so Im normally listening to what ever another member of the family is watching. But recently I have added a CD player to my room and have taken to audio books. It seems that when I do that time flies the next thing I know the DH is knocking at the door asking if Im alright cuz i have been in there 3 hours. (IF it is at night and the kids are in bed) LOL! "I'm fine! now go away!"
Fun question (and answers!) For me it depends on what day of the week it is...and if there is something on TV that I want to listen to. Otherwise I listen to books on tape/cd or music.
I usually have the TV on but I am concentrating so much, that I block it out! LOL! My husband will be sitting there and then say something about the show to me and I have no idea of what happened! LOL!

It all depends on my mood. I alternate from listening to CD's of old time gospel and country western, and a little Elvis thrown in and watching TV shows like CSI, Criminal Minds, NYCSI, and all those shows along with Army Wives. I've started using audio books so I'm sure I'll have one of those on before long.

For me it's soft jazz, sometimes a movie, but often I just like the quiet since it seems our world is so noisy with cell phones, traffic, and the little voice in my head that keeps saying things like: you need to dust, do laundry, buy groceries....
I love to listen to music while I create cards or scrapbook. I'm picky about the music I listen to so I don't listen to the radio. I only listen to cds from my favorite artists. My favorites are Lifehouse and Rob Thomas/Matchbox Twenty. I also like All American Rejects. I usually start listening to Christmas carols, too, come October which drives my husband nuts! lol
I usually put a movie in on the computer on my desk here. Otherwise I listen to various podcasts on my iPod. There are a couple local radio shows and NPR shows that have podcasts that I love.
During the week it is talk radio and my best stampin' time is on Sunday morning when I listen to Polish and German music. Really gets me going when they have accordion and tuba polkas. Yep, I'm a weirdo!!!

It's so interesting to read about what other people do when crafting. I have to have the TV on for background noise -- when I'm cooking, sleeping, working, thinking, crafting... TVs run 24/7 here. I love listening to:
Golden Girls (it still makes me howl with laughter -- no matter how often I see each episode)
Murder She Wrote
Matlock
Law & Order (always on some channel somewhere)
NCIS
Criminal Minds (but sometimes it scares me, and I craft in the basement. It's a finished basement, but it's still the basement)
Any of the Forensic Files-type shows
