This link explains and illustrates hot dog and hamburger folds:

http://scrapbookingtolearn.com/folds.htm

The site had other folds too but none called a napkin fold that I noticed. Do you think it might be a hot dog fold but with the creas on the left side instead of the top? That describes how I fold napkins each night for dinner LOL!

Hope this helps.

I was going to say that kids know hot dog folds, etc, but I see you're a teacher. Maybe not elem? ;-)

Anyway...my guess is that a napkin fold is what the link describes as a taco fold. Just my guess... :-)

Polka Dots and Paisley Square Card by starry at Splitcoaststampers

I am just confused because it says to use a 81/2x81/2 paper and then hamburger fold, hotdoge fold and then napkin and I can't get it to look like this.

I didn't try that, but it DOES look like a napkin fold is what the other link shows as a taco fold. Interesting...I've never heard the terms napkin or taco. I'll have to try what you posted and see what I come up with... ;-)

I think the OP of the gallery is talking about making creases to get the folds right. Try taking the square paper and folding like a hamburger fold (fold in half), then open it and fold [what she's calling a hot dog fold] in half in the other direction. Then make the diaganol fold [taco fold]. By unfolding it, you can then create the mountain and valley folds that create the card she's posted. HTH.
