Hi Jan! I just wanted to thank you for this thread! I don't get to spend much time here on sunday but later in the week I love to look through this thread to see what I missed and this is such a pleasure! I thought it was for all styles too but perhaps those who love the CAS style didn't feel they got recognized enough and felt they wanted a more specific one.... it doesn't matter to me really... but this is the thread I go to when I have a free minute... so please keep it up! We love it and so appreciate you for doing it!

And thanks Vera for letting me know!
I just got my cable back after losing it yet again so I'm sorry if this is redundant but we all know you own this thread, or at least I do when I tried to start it one day and got my hand slapped for it. The other Favorites is for CAS, Clean and Simple cards, which never seem to make it to this thread or are even recognized if you're not one of the 25 repeats week after week. I think it's a good idea to start one like that because frankly, I'd like to see other work showcased once in a while.

I think they should be separate and I'm willing to ruffle the feathers here. The reason why that whole thing was started in the first place is because, and I say this over and over again, the same people every single week get mentioned. No new stamper is ever mentioned here, it's just the same people. It's the clique and I could fire them off in a NY second but I won't. The gal who started the CAS Favorites thread was frustrated because those types of stampers aren't noticed at all.
Personally, I think this Favorites thread is demeaning and devalues the work of every single person who never gets mentioned on this thread. I've been mentioned several times myself on this thread so it's not like I have a bone to pick or anything else like that. Point in case of how territorial of who ever starts the thread weekly.
I don't appreciate the fact that it's a clique and does nothing but hurt the feelings of others whose work isn't even given a second glance and that's why the CAS thread was started and rightfully so, and I hope Susan (?) continues the CAS thread. Let's face some facts here, the clean and simple cards won't ever and haven't ever made it to this list which is why it was started in the first place.

i like doing this, i was just wondering if you did because this
is a thread of everything. if you have clean and simple
it can be included here too... confusing?!
Ouch!
I see what you're saying and I do list some of the same people, frankly they do fabulous work and deserve to be mentioned. I also list others whose names I don't know and who likewise do fabulous work. Anyone can come to this thread and post their favorites. It's not just for a few to favorite here. To say this thread is demeaning and devalues the work of other stampers I don't feel is fair. Like I said, ANYONE can list their favorites. It's great you will have another thead to post favorites to.

I don't know about any "cliques" on SCS, or perhaps I'm naive ... I like this thread. I don't really pay much attention to the names as much as the artwork. AND I don't care if it's CAS or HE (heavily embellished). So, I haven't noticed any consistency with names because I'm not as interested in who created, but rather that someone created something beautiful.
To say this thread is demeaning to others is a bit childish. Why must people complain about comments or lack thereof? Post your stuff and be happy that you created something you feel is beautiful.

Not everybody thinks that way. When you get the types of PMs and telephone calls that I do of other stampers in tears because they've tried their very best, faithfully participated in daily challenges, left hundreds of comments and only get 3 on their cards and maybe 5 views, that is what is not fair and it is very demeaning to them. That's what I'm talking about and I don't think anybody gets that. What's childish is the judging and name-calling to protect the clan rather than think about others and their feelings or even be cognizant to the fact that this is their only place where they can have some contact with the outside world because they're housebound and just want their work recognized. And that seems to be just to hard to ask. How sad.

I do understand your point, Cindy but like I said, I have never heard nor have seen any name calling ... I'm sorry that people are hurt by a lack of comments on their artwork. This thread, though, is not solely responsible for that.

You telling me that my opinion was childish is name-calling. I think this thread exacerbates the feelings of all stampers with the exception of about 25-30 of them that are mentioned faithfully several times a week. Granted their work is good and we all know that. When I post my Favs here, I purposely avoid those that are mentioned over and over again and go hunting for new ideas and stampers. Believe me, the usuals here will pick up my slack. I haven't posted until tonight because I haven't had any power or internet for 2 weeks and will go gallery hunting this week.
Smitty's Fav Thread is going to stay so the 25 or so of y'all can pat each other on the back weekly and I think Susan should stick with her CAS, which is more mainstream and those cards should be recognized too. I already see some control being taken over the CAS thread because one who's mentioned on the Fav thread weekly is already taking over a challenge for that when it's Susan who really should be doing it. That is what I mean by the clique. I tried to start the Favs thread one week because I couldn't sleep and within an hour I had the gal who usually starts the thread slap my hand and I didn't appreciate that whatsoever. There is room here for more than 25 people and should be room here for more than 25 but the control is so tight it won't be allowed when there's others that want to help and make a difference too.
I love this place but the politics are really starting to bother me a lot and maybe I'm just on my last nerve from not having any power, heat, water or internet for 2 weeks and my home and yard are completely destroyed. However, what I did say above is fact. I'm just one of the rare ones who'll speak up about it. It's not right and those of you who have the power to change it and make a difference aren't doing it and that bothers me the most. All crafters aren't recognized, just a few are and that's wrong.
Wow...looks like I missed something here...but look at my join date...and last week was the first time EVER that I was mentioned on this thread.
No tears...no whining...no name calling (I hope)...but over 2 years of posting before being mentioned here. Was it worth it? Heck no...that's not what I am here for...to get mentioned???
I thought this thread was for looking at and sharing what we loved this week. I didn't realize some thought it was for boosting egos.
Please, everyone, continue to share your favorites and leave it at that...SHARING.
