I realize it's only April and that most of you are probably working on Mother's Day projects, but I seriously need help. We live in Germany so I have to plan ahead in case I need to order a gift or even supplies to make a gift. I have no ideas in my poor little brain. Please help. What are you doing? What have you done in the past? Anyone have any great ideas???
I made this last year for my fil and filled it with small gift cards to his favorite places. He loved it. Not sure if that would work for you being out of the country. http://danniesdesigns.typepad.com/my...s-day-wal.html
I'm still hunting for ideas for this year (finally finished the MD gifts and just need to make the cards!) so I hope someone has something fantastic. I always find FD gifts to be a challenge.

Dannie, You always have the cutest ideas! I subscribe to your blog but have never posted but really, my props to you girl! Thanks for all of your awesome inspiration!
I can't even remember what the kids got my husband for father's day, but one year we wrapped whatever it was in a big box with a brick to fool him. That was pretty funny!
Speaking of bricks, and depending on how old your kids are...
One year we got a small bag of cement mix from the home improvement store, mixed it up and put it in a pan sprayed with cooking spray. On two of them, the kids put their handprints and the date (before it dried obviously) and the others they decorated with colorful glass rocks that you can get at a craft store. The ones we made in a 9 inch cake pan made cool stepping stones for the garden.
If you do this, don't forget the cooking spray or you will be getting new pans for your next gift getting event!
Of course, if depends on which Father....hubby, (father of your children) or your own dad.
For their dad, when kids were 13 & 10, I told them to give him something he likes to so. So they got cigars, TV Guide and Dr. Pepper, as he had no hobbies! He was OK with that.
For my elderly dad, I did a completely home-cooked meal of his favorites. VERY HAPPY MAN.
Food is always good.
Think about what you would like to do that you've never done before, then start a conversation with him about it. He will tell you his desire. Then maybe that art class, or motorcycle trip or cooking class, or para-sailing adventure would surprise him.
Have fun!
