I guess I must be one of the lucky people who has never had an issue with PTI. I placed an order on Monday and had it delivered Friday and everything was perfect. The packaging was fabulous and the card stock so well protected. I have placed several orders in the last few months and everything was GREAT.... I love their jar stamps with the fillers...they make the cutest cards.... I hope they stay in business for a very long time...
I totally understand the decision to leave PTI. I made that decision a few times, but now only look. The customer service is horrific....they can be rude and snippy to say the least. And if you ever dare to comment on that on their forum....oh my, you do get lots of nasty comments. I have to say i think their dies are pretty nifty, but i have enough.
Gina K's store is fabulous for many reasons....the heavy baseweight CS if the best....she reads this board and comments, her tutorials are fun, and the customer service is terrific. i am glad the stamps now are precut and i see they have clear stamps. The only problem I have is the kits...i like some of the stamps in a set, but not most....still..... My money is on Gina !!
No tears for PTI....they have had a long time to improve and I see no real desire to do so.
There are so many stamp companies out there with fabulous products, great prices and superb customer service.
I placed an order with Impression Obsession on Thursday afternoon, received a shipping notice and tracking number on Friday and my order was received today, Monday - how great is that?
And I received a nice e-mail from the owner regarding a comment I made on my order regarding different mounting options. Wonderful service from this company - I already have a wish list compiled for my next order.
Gina K. is definitely filling a niche by offering both clear and rubber. I like both (as long as the clear is good quality) so it will be interesting to see.
There's so many stamp companies that have such good service - I placed an order with Verve last Thursday and received it yesterday. It's only my second order with them, but I remember being very impressed with them before.
The SU catalog has so much I want as well this year, so I'll have plenty of places to shop without worrying about PTI. Though I still hope they can turn themselves around.

From the sounds of things on the PTI forum, they are going to have another ink fiasco on their hands. It's really a shame but clearly evident that quality control is not their stong point.

Yeah, I was planning on getting a couple of cubes to try the next time I decide to order. But I changed my mind today. I spent a lot of money on PTI's second generation ink pads when they were released. That fiasco was handled very poorly and I definitely got burned. I don't want to waste my money again.
I'm not sure when I will order again. PTI's products (except for their inks) are wonderful and I have a long wish list. But PTI still has major quality control problems, and frequent mistakes are still being made on a large scale. I keep hoping that PTI will turn things around. I want to start ordering regularly again but don't want to feel like I'm gambling when I make a purchase.

I've missed that. Is it in Stamping Talk? I've thought about ordering their inks to give them a try, but if there's something causing people to complain (repeatedly anyway, you can't please everyone!) with the new release, maybe I'll try the new SU foam pads.
Nevermind - found the two threads (for anyone looking, they're the 2 with the little security lock on them. That's a shame about the problems are having - hopefully it's just a bad batch, but it's good that the pads have ability to be tracked whenever they're returned so the manufacturer can problem solve.
That said, I will keep my eyes open for more SU foam ink feedback before I go too far down any inky path I may find to be a hassle or regret. :\
It sure seems like a change is happening at PTI.. people leaving to pursue other areas. I sure hope this won't be a change that won't be good for the future of PTI. I just started buying their stamps and love the designs. ~~~Carol
I have only ordered from PTI a couple of times, but my aunt had been a loyal customer, buying several sets each month for a couple years...however, she was not receiving her free sets and when she contacted customer service several times about it, they were rude to her, to say the least. After hearing the rest of your stories, I will not be buying from them anymore either. It's sad to see that a company that had such promise is turning this corner when they have had such loyal customers.
Many years ago a manager was discussing Customer Service with our department and he said to us :
" In any business transaction BOTH parties must benefit. When the needs and expectations of the buyers OR the seller are not met , then the company will fail "

This is very perceptive. A lot of these problems stem from a sense of conflicting interests, when actually the seller and buyer have more in common than not. It's the "us and them" that's the root of the problem. Hence, The Golden Rule."
All too often businesses define their problem as lack of sales when the lack of sales are only the "end result" of the real problems
They need to learn to define the correct problems if they expect to be successful
Lack of sales are due to four main problems:
Poor quality products
Poor customer service
Poor pricing, either to low to make a profit or too high for the market
Poor product selection by not listening to what customers want to buy.
