Default EZ Mount Cling Foam lost it's stcky . . . .

I have a few stamps with EZ Mount on the back and it is no longer sticky on the acrylic block side. I dunno if it was a bad batch or why it's doing it, but does anyone have any suggestions on how to make it sticky again? I suppose I could try to peel it off and put on some new foam . . .
Thanks!
Deb

Have you tried washing the foam and the acrylic block, even just with mild soap and water? That works for me sometimes. :-)

A little bit of warm water and soap and tap off the excess and let it air dry...Works like a charm!

Clean off your acrylic Block, You can also spray water on your Ez-mount foam to clean it off.

Don't let your unmounted stamps stay in the soapy water to long it will ruin the foam.

Let it air dry also.

Sometimes the cling looses it's cling due to oils in our hands, Hair, dust.

I have found that storing cling mounted stamps in cd cases can cause the cling cushion to etch into the plastic. It can loose it's cling over time. I make cardstock inserts that are U shaped that fit inside the cd cases to protect the cushion and prevent the etching.

Yup, I agree with deeth1. Before I switched from CDs to another method of storing, I noticed a few of my stamps losing their cling. Then I read not to store them in CD cases for that reason. I had to give away over 100 CD cases, but I love my new way better.

That's a great idea! Would you mind sharing photos and/or more details of how you have made CD case storage safer for your stamps? Is the cardstock coated with anything to make the stamps "stick" or do they float around inside the case? Thanks so much for your insight!

Deeth1, I'm sorry but I'm having a hard time understand what your U shaped insert that fits inside the CD case looks like. Do the stamps just floats and moving around freely this without being stuck to anything ?

Me too. What are the U shaped inserts for the CD cases?

You can purchase these storage panels from Sunday International, which is the company who makes EZ Mount. It keeps your cling mount from etching into the CD case. They are laminated sheets so the cling actually clings instead of floating around in your CD case.

has anyone ever heard if glueing a clear acylic sheet to the inside of the CD case would help or would that have the same effect as the CD.

I tape a clear sheet to the inside of my cases and it works just fine.

As for the SU DVD cases...they are made of a different kind of plastic, which in my experience, does not have the same issues with the etching.

Default Cling foam losing grip

Besides cleaning the back, I keep the back side paper that was on the cling stamp when I received it. I place it back on each time after I stamp with it. I have some I have had for years without having to clean the backing. I also use the mild soap and water to clean.
