I've seen a lot of people use these to store their COPICS. I got one today at Target for $10. I got red, but they had white, aqua and a few other bright colors. If you are interested, you can find it by the seasonal dishware.
yet. . .always on the lookout for something new, so I'd love to see a photo of what you found, too!! Actually, when I couldn't find another amuse one, I searched and searched the internet for something similar and couldn't find anything I liked, so I'm very curious!!! :^)
nancy i have 2 of the amuse bins. red for my copics. and bright green for my pencils. but boy i love target's prices better!
Yep, me too, although I am getting in the habit of thinking as I did in my SU days. . . that the $ goes toward benefits, too!
When I was looking for another one like the amuse one, it was to use as a caddy for Wii stuff... remotes, "hint booklets" we printed from the internet, etc. I'm going to see how the measurements compare.
In mine, I actually put a couple of magnetic spice containers and little plastic kids' cups to better hold the markers, etc., upright in the compartments.
The Target bin is: Width: 10.0 "; Depth: 6.5 "; Height: 5.0 "
The Amuse bucket is: 10.5 x 7.0 x 5.5
That's not to say a little bit smaller might not work better for someone! Depending on the number of markers/pencils you have, you might not want too much wiggle room because then they lean over, etc., and can be harder to fish out. (again, which is why I added some little cups to the inside of my a|s bucket. . . also because I may just be the teeniest tiniest bit obsessive about organization, LOL!!!)
P.s. Again, thanks to the OP for the heads up on the Target find :^)
So how many copics do you think the target bin will hold? I've seen them and thought about buying one but it didn't look big enough. I guess I could get two though.
I was so excited when I saw them at Target. I'd wanted one last year and then waited too long, so I'm glad they're back. All the copics I own fit in the half without the compartments, which leaves me plenty of space to grow into.
I've repurposed a canister that was intended to be used for a Food Saver. It was always a pain to create the seal again and the lids don't allow you to stack, so it just sat unused until I needed something to hold my copics. It works great! It is strong and has short height. I'm not at home right now, but I would estimate that I have around 75 sketch markers in one canister.
For those of you who might not make it to Target, I found a nearly identical utensil caddy at my grocery store last year. It was in the seasonal section, with the BBQ equipment and plastic dinnerware. Bright yellow enamel with six compartments, for less than $10.
boy-we need to do a search each time we shop! never know what you could miss
:^) No kidding!!! It's amazing to me as it was such a short time ago I was looking for something like this . . . I guess it's best to search when the seasons are changing and the product lines change, too.
(hope you get to visit Michigan -- a water winter wonderland ;^) )
I have found so many great containers at Target. I would say they have quite a selection if you walk around the store. Found some in crafts, some in the plastic container section, some in the ironing section....just keep your eyes open in Target!
I have several of these to store my stamping stuff -- one has hole punches & CAD, one has my acrylic blocks, one cardstock scraps, etc. They stack nicely too. Don't know how I missed the pattern in this link; I love it!
So the markers would be "standing up" in this? Do Copics not need to be stored on their side like most markers? Just wondering because most people seem to be storing their Copics in containers that have them "standing up," so I wondered if this was a difference with Copics as opposed to SU markers, for example. (clear as mud, right? LOL!)

I picked the aqua one up today! Sooo cool. Thanks for sharing
I don't believe this particular grid comes in multiple sizes, but you might find some other form of grid that comes in a different size. I have seen test tube holders. I don't know how they would fit, what the cost might be or what size they are. I just have seen that some folks are using them to store their Copics in. If the grid was too much bigger, the box wouldn't hold all my markers. Since I only have 6 original Copics I just plan on replacing all but the blender pen. I like that one in an original and mine will fit in the corner slot.
