I have been making a bunch of easter cards (probably about 10-15) and I will give some to deserving family members (deserving to me means the people who don't make wise-cracks about my hobby) but I am thinking about putting a few in the flower shop I consign at.. How many people actually give/receive easter cards?
(PS.. I have a Catholic background so Easter is definitely celebrated, but in a more traditional way...)

I have sold out of the serious ones I made for the boutique where I sell my cards and have to make some more. Not a one of the "cutesy" Easter ones sold, but all the religious ones have sold. I used the Glorious Gift set from Stampin' Up. HTH

I am in California, while the rest of my large, Catholic family is on the East coast. When time permits I send cards to my Mom & Dad, and 9 brothers and sisters for every occasion. Now, I get cards back from them (although not hand-made, but happy to get them) for St. Patrick's Day, Easter, etc. If I was a friend or family member of yours I would be hoping to get some of your cards for every holiday, Tobi.

Good to know, thanks!! Maybe I'll drop some off.. Mine are more cutesy, but I think I have a few "serious" stamps that would fit the bill!

I made my one and only Easter card several years ago using the House-Mouse stamp that has a sick bunny in a basket and one of the mousies taking its temperature. On the outside (using my computer) I put Do you know why this bunny is so sick? And the inside said Because he ate all your Easter Candy!
I make one for my 7 yo dd each year and always use a cute bunny image - she still believes in the Easter Bunny so it is fun to make the most of it. I don't make any others though - sending Easter cards in Australia isn't really something that we have ever done - not really part of our "culture" although I am sure that some people must because I see them in the shops.
That being said, I think it is fun to make Easter cards and other papercraft projects for kids.
I make and send about 15 Easter cards to family and friends, especially my young nephew and nieces. I love cute bunny or chick stamps and have quite a large collection, especially from Whipper Snapper so I really want to use them. I usually receive 3-4 store bought cards from the people I send them to, no one in my family is a stamper or card maker.
I have an ongoing list of about 30 family members and friends that I send cards to for almost every major holiday. So I've made 30 Easter cards that will be put in the mail soon.
Everyone says they love getting my cards, so I keep sending them.

30??!! Holy Crap!! That's a lot. And you are so lucky to have a family that appreciates your hard work!!

I make Easter cards for my friends and family. I rarely receive any back, but that's not the point. It's a way for me to keep in touch, and they all seem to appreciate them. By now, they all probably expect them. LOL! I try to send cards once per month, usually for a holiday.

I like the idea of making and sending Easter cards. I do think you have to be careful what kind of card you make for what person.
Children might most appreciate the cutsy ones with a bunny on them. Though adults who do practice their faith would more appreciate a card more fitting the true meaning of the holiday. Some children who are in religious schooling would also fiind the more meaningful cards most appropriate.
You have to choose carefully the card appropriate for the particular person. You don't want to offend anyone.
Have to share this GORGEOUS Easter card (well the photo I have is of a sympathy version) by Diane Vander Galien that might work for some of you who need serious rather than cutesy Easter cards but don't have stamps for it. It's the second photo in this post. What a great meeting! - Song of My Heart Stampers
I lead a church card ministry and we have a rack where we "sell" cards for a donation (following all angel policies). We had 12 elegant religious Easter cards, and every single one of them sold within a day of putting them out. I've had multiple people contact me to ask if we happen to have any more. This has been the most sought-after type of card we've made.
A couple of people mentioned they really appreciated a religious Easter card because they were hard to find. Thought that was kind of weird, you would think Hallmark would be all over that, but then again I've hardly set foot in a Hallmark store since I discovered this hobby many years ago!
I look forward to doing Easter cards every year...
This year I am working on 35 for family and friends

I love to make and send cards for lots of occassions including the "major" holidays. I think many family/friends have come to expect them and I enjoy it. I get lots of thank-you's which is just an extra bonus for the fun I have making them. I made 34 this year and have sent all but 3 - those 3 I'll deliver in person. I'm always grateful when we receive a card, so why not make someone else smile, too?!
Yep, I send out Easter cards!! (thanks for the reminder, too!! ) I like to make cards, so my special family members and friends get cards. Like you, I am a liitle picky about who gets my cards.
I don't normally send out Easter cards but this year I'm making about 15 to give to people. I only decided to do this because I came up with a beautiful card and I just can't keep it to myself :-)

I made about 20 (5 to sell and 15 for family and friends...) I made mostly cute ones, but one very religious for a customer and 2 semi religious with a blessings sentiment. It is a very fun card making holiday.

I make a ton of Easter cards...MUST celebrate that Christ died for us and arose again.....I make them for family, LOTS for the soldiers and the church bookstore.
blessings.
Lyssa-the link is coming. I had to modify the cards I'm sending out because I didn't have enough card stock in THE color to do large square cards for everyone. Pictures will be showing themselves later today :-)
Right now though I need to deliver a Kahlua cake to my DH's office. His mom put in a special order for it (they are celebrating then end of tax season :-)

here is my easter card 2011 easter card by queen bee - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers
This looks better in real life, the yellow in the main image did not photograph well. I make about 30 cards for friends and family. These are my main cards, I aslo make abut six kids cards for some very special kids in my life, garnddaughters and such. They are in my gallery. My card making is my hobby and also my therapy!! Just kidding, but it is my stress release and lucky for me they are recieved well. One of my girlfriends husband frequently comments on them and observes some of the smallest deltails, like a unique font! Side note.... thanks for the great tips on photographing my card. Turning off the flash has made a big difference in the color quality. I love this site and all the helpful information!!!
