Ok, I'm turning to you all for more advice! I finally sat down and made a Christmas card today and for the first time. The first time that counts anyway. I've done a few practice runs, but never on a card I was going to keep.
It's hard to tell all the snowflakes on the night of navy are very glittery -but they are. Does this card need anything else to make it pop out when looking at it?? I really like it as it is but feel it could be missing something.......... Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Oh where is that edit button??? The first part is supposed to say this.......
Ok, I'm turning to you all for more advice! I finally sat down and made a Christmas card today and for the first time I actually embossed something - the snowflakes on the night of navy paper. The first time embossing that counts anyway. I've done a few practice runs with embossing, but never on a card I was going to keep.
What a pretty card! I would maybe layer the shimmery white piece on Night of Navy - that will make it pop a little I think. I would maybe even stamp the sentiment in Night of Navy ink. It's hard to say. It is very pretty, though. Nice job!

Actually, the more I think about it, I'm not sure about stamping the image in Night of Navy. Maybe you could emboss it? Okay, that's enough from me. It's very pretty!

I also think it's very pretty -- I love blue and white snowflake cards at the holidays! One suggestion might be to put in more navy, because right now the only navy is on the focal point. You could try stamping the greeting in navy, as Donna suggested. Or even just eliminate the Ballet and Bashful blues and use only navy and white -- then the snowflakes on the white would be stamped in navy, and the greeting would be stamped in white (on navy paper). Make sense? Great card!
If I were doing it, I would probably use the Night of navy for the base card and the shimmery white on top because it is soooo pretty. I think I would use night of navy ink. I will tell you I'm a night of navy fan, so it's JMO.
I think it's pretty, but it does need something. I would try layering your Navy behind the Shimmery white, just so there's a little bit (1/8th of an inch) on top and on bottom, and maybe scallop those edges?
I think I would use the night of navy with the snowflakes in white or silver and embossed. Maybe a sheer white or silvery ribbon holding a tag of somesort with the sentiment. Maybe have the base card a lighter blue or white...
I purposely did not read any other comments so as not to influence my reaction. I love it!!
But, I think it would be even better if you stamp the sentiment in the dark blue to pull it together. Possibly move the ribbon so that it is horizontal -- covering the part where the two papers meet. Possibly another layer under the stamps? Hope this helps.

I love it just the way it is!! However, one simple thought I had would be to stamp one of the snowflakes on a separate piece of cardstock, punch it out and put it on a pop dot over the top of a snowflake. Just a thought, but I do really love the card!
