The only time it would appear loose is if I have embossed it ; then I go all the way around. Or I suppose if the CS isn't flat. Normally it lays nicely all around without tape on every inch of the perimeter.
I love my two sided tape!!! I usually just do the top and bottom or if it's a narrow piece, right down the center! The kind I use is super sticky and comes in two widths...I get mine from DRS Designs, www.drsdesigns.com if you're looking for a really good two sided tape!
I definitely go ALL THE WAY AROUND. I can't stand the loose look when any layer is just secured in spots. It just doesn't look professional or finished to me.
I use ds tape too. It works just fine - I am one of those cautious sorts that puts tons on - but I do that with other adhesives too. I've never had any problem.

Ditto. I do not skimp when it comes to tape.
You should see me when I'm wrapping Christmas presents. LOL!
Pick me too. I never feel it is done properly, otherwise. I do not skimp at all on DST!
DST is my preferred method and I use Pritt Glue (the silver one) for any difficult things...like flowers, metal stuff, chipboard etc.

I use 2 sided tape but not on everything. The refills are too expensive. :( So, I use glue. But, like some others have said, I too don't like the look of where the paper lifts from the edge. To me it diminishes the overall look and I prefer a more polished approach where everything is fastened down nice and straight without the lifting.

My cards always look polished and professional, even with the corners taped. (ask my customers!) I use 3M permanent DS tape. If the top layer is embossed, or not otherwise smooth, I might add the 2 little pieces on the sides. All that extra tape? To me, its "belt and suspenders".

Well it may be your area of the country - I know I used to do that with 3M tape and I about died of embarrassment last year when I was at a graduation party and the card I lovingly crafted fell apart when it was being handed around.
Lesson learnt - it doesn't matter how pretty the card is - people will remember it fell apart.:(
I always use white double sided craft tape all around the edge of the card that is being stuck down. If it's been embossed through the Cuttlebug for example, and I'm attaching to a card base, I'll use the red extra sticky double sided tape instead I'd rather use too much and know I've got peace of mind and it's secure, than die of embarrassment that it's fallen off!
Double sided tape all around and a touch of glue at the corners so it's double secure.
Those in no hurry to mail normally stand on a shelf for at least a week so I know they won't fall apart.
What is the double-sided tape you are all using? I usually use a tape runner (like mono or kokoyura) or my ATG gun. Why do you like the DST better? Or am I missing something obvious

For me, it's the availability of the DS tape. I buy 3M tape by the 6-pack at my local warehouse store, but most of my local stores, even grocery, have it in stock. I've never tried mono adhesive, and I just don't feel like I need an ATG. Maybe there's lower humidity where I live, but again, I've never had a problem with just tape on the corners. (When I started this craft I used to use a glue stick and yes, had cards fall apart. If an adhesive isn't working to hold onto the corners, I would expect it to fail even if I taped all the way around. I guess everyone has to find what works for them.
I use dst also and go around all the sides. I sell my cards and have no intention of letting any of them ever fall apart. I have cards that I have from when I started ten years ago (using dst) and then are still stuck nicely together.
For unembossed cardstock I use scotch 3M tape.
For cuttlebugged layers I use Miracle Tape.
For adhering to things like metal, I use red line tape.
The only thing I use glue for is gems and crystals.
I use Scor-Tape double sided tape for all applications that need tape. Otherwise I run things through one of my Xyrons. The layers I put on cards are all run through the 5 inch Xyron so that are secured on all edges and middle evenly. Die cuts are all run through the Xyron for the adhesive.
I used to use glue stick till I realized it was not appropriate for the type of material I am adhereing.
I use 3M DS tape in the four corners, like Nancystamps, but i have never, and I do mean never, had a card fall apart. i do find that sometimes I have to rub the area so that both sides, do indeed, attach. i am currently doing 200 wedding invites and am using 3M DS Tape, so far, so good!
After years of swapping experience and receiving terrific hand-made cards, I am a confirmed "more is more" girl. ... i.e. all sides of the C/S for me. ;)

Well, when you say "swaps", since I do SUO swaps, I use snail. I don't want the swap police after me! LOL!
I use 3M also. I only use tape in the corners or in spots that look a little loose. I've never had a problem in 10 years of paper crafting. I guess I'm just extra frugal. Especially since most people eventually pitch the cards anyway.

I like double-sided tape and use it constantly. I tried different tape runners and guns but just plain DS tape from the dollar store is much better IMHO! Also 'all the way around' is the only way to go. Nothing worse than 'project malfunction'!!! Also use it to close hand made envelopes.
I only use 3M DS tape in my desk top tape dispenser. I've never had a problem with cards coming apart. I usually put it all the way around the card, and sometimes, even a piece in the middle!
If I have a really small item to attach, like really thin ribbon, I use my Creative Memories DS adhesive, it's like 1/16" wide.
I love tape!!;)

I have always used double stick tape (14 years) andgo all around with a strip diagonally thru the middle as well. Yes, it's a lot of tape; but I still know people who have the cards I made 14 years ago and they are intact. I've seen a lot of cards done by others only a few years old come apart because they used tombo or less tape. Some say I waste the tape and only a few pieces are needed; but I will stick to lots of tap because IMO nothing is worse than a card that falls apart eventually.
