Default Do you like the Summer Mini?

I've only caught glimpses when it was on EBAY and I've looked in the gallery. I hate to say this -- I don't like the stamps I've seen so far. Stew veggies, monkeys, sheep, animals in general just aren't my style. I might like Sage Advice once I see more of it.

I hope this isn't a preview of the new catalogue. Does anyone else agree or am I just a lone wolf here? (sorry for the pun).

I adore the new fairy stamps.... I am still on the fense about the monkeys, I love monkeys but not sure about the set. I suppose its good for little boy cards.

I agree there arent many I LOVE but I am sure once the girls do their magic on here I will change my mind. just take a look at the gallery for more ideas, there are some there already, including the new fairies.

I ordered Along the Shore and the white gel pen. When I heard all the talk about the military set, I was sure I would want to get that, but after seeing it, I just didn't care for it. It's about time there was something I didn't need; I want to save for the new sets. I have no doubt that the new IBC will get me excited. WILL GET me excited??? I'm there already!

There are a few things in there that I love - especially the monkeys! The new flower set it great too (I'm at work - I can't remember the name of it right now).

i am in love with the summer mini. the colors of the cover and samples swoon you into summer! I'm a cat lover so i have preordered Cattitude. I love Sage Advise, Take Shape, Fairy Nice, and Mixed Bouquet. There are some gorgeous cards in the gallery already. While I won't jump to buy Godspeed, the military set, i would like to borrow it from one of my stamping buddies to make some cards for the troops. Get your stampin' gears ready for this lovely mini catalog!

There are some really cute sets in there. I'm usually like, what would I do with that set until I see what someone else creates with it. I don't know if you know anyone in the military, but there is a beautiful set with a soldier writing a letter home and a coordinating wheel. I also love the $400.00 hostess set.

Others that are really nice are Along the Shore,Take Shape, Backyard BBQ and the Tag Alphabet.

Sometimes you just have to see a set in action to really appreciate it.

HAPPY STAMPIN'!

I'm often un-wowed with the stamps in the minis. Then, I see an example here or at a demo and see it in a whole new light. I think I need the monkeys.

I like the monkey set!

I can say that when the Idea catty came out last year, I was very dissapointed, I only like a handful - A FIRST - stamps start to grow on you. I didn't like Lets party, but as of 2 weeks ago, Im a proud owner.

Im not a flowery fu fu person, so when the minis are full of those, Im sad, but they always through in a cute set that I like - saves me money.

I haven't liked the past two minis, but I am absolutely LOVING the summer one! In fact, I don't know how I'm going to decide which ones to get because I don't even have close to enough money to get all of the ones I want!

Thumbs up

I LOVE the Monkey's & BBQ sets -- I pre-ordered those two (I'm a demo).

I LIKE the Fairies, Along the Shore, Stew Pot Pals & Sage Advice (I'll try to trade or earn them free).

Think the Military set is WONDERFUL, but don't have a use for it in my family.

I'm reserving my opinion on the Tag Alpha & Numbers -- I'm hoping that there will be something in the new IBC that makes "sense" of that design . . . ;)

I can do without the Cat set, Take Shape, farm animals, flowers & "boy" sets (read my tag line . . .).

I'm sure there will be plenty in the new catalog that you'll love!! I loved the samples in the spring mini, but I didn't care much for the sets (except maybe cool cat!)
But, this mini I don't care much for the samples, but I LOVE the sets!!
I'm going to take the monkey in monkey business, and I'm going to color him in like Boots (from Dora the Explorer?) and put little sprigs on his head. He'll go on my daughter's current pages, because she watches Dora everyday right now!! Then, when I go back and do my "Where did these pictures come from?" album, I'm using the same monkey as Curious George for my sons' pages! After that, I'll probably make cards to send to all of my 'monkey' friends!!
I also can't wait for the new catalog, because I always love it, and I'm just glad that I am moving to our new house this summer, because that will take my mind off of all of the "When will my catalog be here???" drama!!
I'm sorry you don't like much from the summer mini, and I hope you really love a whole lot of things from the new catty coming out!!

It isn't unusual to be uninspired when a mini catalog is released . . . until you see what some of the talented stampers here do with them . . . ;)

All of a sudden, images I never gave a 2nd glance to, draw my attention and my applause (a.k.a. pocketbook, LOL!) because they've shown me new ways of looking at them!

I really like the fairies, especially after seeing the samples that have been posted. They remind me of Spruced Up with their little striped legs!
And I'm on the fence about the BBQ set. It's pretty cute, I'll have to see if it's something that I'd actually use. I'm not too interested in the other sets - which is a good thing, because I need to budget!!

I think the summer mini is great -- because I don't like anything in it enough to buy. That way I can save my money for buying sets of the new coloured paper, ink and markers. And for the new catalogue -- I'm getting Provencal as soon as I can. It's to die for.

I was pretty disappointed in the summer mini, too. But then I figured it was a good thing I didn't love everything since I'm saving $ for the new catalog. My DIL likes a lot of the sets, though. Guess it's all in your individual needs and tastes!!!

I like most of the summer mini, but there aren't any sets that I absolutely have to have. I like the saying sets the most, but I also like the little faireies.

Nope! I don't like the summer mini either...the only set I would be remotely interested in is the beach one...in three years of stamping, I don't think I've ever ordered out of any of the minis...I'm waiting for the new IB&C...hope this isn't a pre-cursor of what's to come!

I wasn't that impressed with the mini catty until I saw all of the cute cards made with the monkey set! I just love that set and I can't wait to order it.

I personally wasn't thrilled with the sets, but some of them do grow on you. Everyone has such unique tastes and I am sure that the new catty will have something new for everyone. Just 52 more days!!!!

I will get Sage Advice - don't you think it will look great with Art of Life (Spring HA set)? I am thinking about Mixed Bouquet, but will probably wait to see what people make with it before deciding. I got five sets from the Spring mini, so I'm glad there weren't more got-to-haves in the Summer mini!

Default Summer Mini

I think that I need the monkeys (I like the Dora the Explorer and Curious George idea's above). I don't have the actual catalog in hand to view so I can only go off what I've seen here in the Summer Gallery. :(

Wow, answers to this one are all over the map. I'm with the poster: I don't like any of the new sets in the Summer Mini well enough to buy them.

Actually I'm happy about that because I'm a new demo and just blew my budget on my first order, mostly on supplies. So tiny happy dance that there's nothing I just had to have. But when the new catty comes out, whoeeeee!

I guess I'm one of the few. I have pre-ordered about 8 of the sets. I can just see so many fun ideas in my head and can't wait to start stamping. It would be easier for me to list what I didn't get,LOL.

I'm not that thrilled with this mini, but I'm relieved since I had to have almost everything in the spring one. Thanks to all the talented people here on scs. Cant wait for the catalog!!!

My thoughts exactly. Nothing jumped out at me initially, but after seeing some samples on this site, there are a couple of sets I really like. I am so thankful for the wealth of information and ideas I find here!

The only set I really like is the mixed boquet DD flower set, but I think I am going to wait until the new catalog comes out to see if it is there, I don't want a big set I can't demo. I am actually glad I wasn't in love with everything, I have other things to buy!

Glad someone else was as "unimpressed" as I was! I have seen some great samples though, including the freaky stewpot people..LOL..I only ordered the Sage Advice and Mixed Greetings set for the reason that I just didn't see anything worth getting worked up about!

Now the Spring Mini.......THAT was exciting! I have a lot of the sets...LOL...and am ordering the Fresh Fruits DD set this month!

Not a big fan of the summer mini. The Stew Pot one is scary to me!!!
The monkeys are kinda cute now that I have seen some cards. We're military so I liked the military one.
Overall though this mini didn't do it for me,
Jodie

I wasn't thrilled with anything in the summer mini. The BBQ set was cute but I don't think I would really use it that much. The only thing that's tempting me in the summer mini is the Tag Alphabet. I'm glad though, because I liked the Spring mini a little too much and I also want to spend my money on ink pads and cardstock in the new colors when they're available.

I can't even find my mini. I was less than impressed with it and guess I put it somewhere and now I can't find it. I'm glad I don't like any of the sets though cause I need to save up for the new colors and the new catty.
