These seem to be pretty effective marketing tools and wonder if you like them. I have mixed reactions. Some time I get all caught up and buy the product other times run for the hills, even when I like the product.
What do you think?

LOOOOVE them...but only when the date to buy is close in time to the "sneak peeks." If there is too long between when the sneak peeks start and when the item goes on sale, I am usually "bored" with it...which I guess would mean I probably don't need it!! LOL

Good point. Maybe the time lag does make the difference for me too.

I don't like them too much. I like to see it all at once and I hate waiting. I'd rather just see a notification of a new release or something. Also, I find with some of the lines, the sets all have a very similar look so it's hard to tell what's sneak-peek and what's not. Upon a bit of reflection I tend to ignore anything sneak-peek related.
I'm not a big fan either. If I see something I like ~ I like to be able to go & order it~ frankly there are so many 'sneak peeks' lately that after a day or so I can't remember which ones I was looking at ~ I guess I should be thankful though ~ at least I'm not buying more. 'Cause frankly, I need more stamps like I need another hole in my head!
I hope my question didn't sound negative. I buy a TON after looking at what design teams and demos do with products. LOVE That. I don't mind a sneak peak that shows an entire card. It is just the corner of a card or a piece of a stamp that I find bothersome. I guess I'm impatient and want to see the whole thing at once.

Yeah, that really irks me, too. I don't care if I don't see the whole set, but I at least want to see a whole stamp! I saw a blog that did this very thing (just a little teeny, tiny corner of a stamp) and I was so irritated. In fact, I never even went back to see if the rest was "revealed" or not....
I enjoyed PaperTrey's very first one, when everybody was waiting to see Nichole's new company and stamps. Since then, though, it's been so overdone, lol. It isn't effective to me at all; it's like there's another one everytime I turn around. Most of them I never even investigate.
I think to begin with it was fun......but now everyone is doing it:( As has already been said it is a very clever marketing tool and it obviously works but if I see something I like I want to be able to purchase it there and then not wait weeks/months until it becomes available as I will have moved on....imho:rolleyes:
Nichole's is the only one that I pay attention to, likely because I love Papertrey stamps and haven't seen a set or a project of hers yet that I didn't like!

Well "I" am always on the hunt for new stamps and LOVE peeks.
The peeks and countdowns truly KILL me! I hate to WAIT. I wish I could just get it all that day. But, then again I get excited to place my order.
I like sneak peeks -- but I have to agree with the person who said it can't be for so long. There's a point where your potential customer will be 'over it' and onto something else!
Sometimes I feel like I've seen so many beautiful and creative projects with that set -- why would I even need to buy it. Does that make sense?? I'd be happier just looking at their cards
I love the PaperTrey countdown and look forward to it each month- but I've never actually bought any of the products. I just like to see what she comes up with. Nichole is brilliant.
"Corner of the card" sneak peaks don't really excite me though. I don't read many blogs, so I don't really see too many of those, so it's all good.

I, too, love the Papertrey countdown. Mostly because Nichole makes such neat projects, etc. I only have a few of the PTI sets, so I'm not sure if the marketing technique is working on me.
As for only seeing a portion of a card as a "sneak peak" - that drives me CRAZY!!! At least wait until you can show the whole card. That's just my $.02.
For me I like the sneak peaks but limit myself to where I buy from. There are so many stamping companies now on SCS that I tend to feel overwhelmed so I decided on my limited budget to stick to just a few. I won't mention them so that I won't hurt anyones feelings. Trust me if I had more funds I could easily invest in many more. The talent on SCS is overwhelming But I do also agree that the sneak peak has to be within in reason. A week or less for me.
I really dislike the sneak peeks. I think that if the products were just featured at the time of release I would still want them. Also, there probably wouldn't be the availability issues there currently are as the retailers could see the build in demand and have time to react to it. As it is doesn't it seem like there is a huge initial demand and then what? Are we on to the next thing? Or still interested? Or is demand increasing?
I like sneak peeks. I like to have an idea of whether I should save out some money to spend on an upcoming set. The corner ones I've seen usually show the whole thing in the next day or two, so I don't mind. Also a lot of times when they do those tiny corners the photo is super close up and I LOVE that because I can see how they color and stuff better.

I always watch the sneak peaks for Papertrey Ink. I would love if they would post the samples and let me buy it right away. Just because I hate to wait.
They were okay in the beginning but its getting kind of old. Every time you turn around there is a sneak peek for someone. I don't pay attention to them anymore.
I think they're fun, but I only want to peek about a week ahead. Also, want to see maybe one stamp used out of a set. What I don't like is when every single design team member has something new every day, and they're all using different stamps from a set. By the time the release date finally rolls around it's anti-climactic. I all ready know pretty much everything that's coming, so it's a bit of a let down.
