The only problem with not knowing anyone else who stamps (except my friend/demo who lives down the street) is I never get cards. It kind of bums me out. It would be nice to open the mailbox and recieve a card for a change. I don't send cards to get cards in return, I do it cos I like it.
PM me your address - I'd love to send you a card!
That's the best when you open the mailbox to find one inside!
(Seems like you mostly get them as an adult only when it's your birthday.)
You might want to join a swap, too! Then you get a whole BUNCH of cards!

My thoughts exactly. PM me your address and I'll RAK you too!
I never get cards either - just on my birthday. I need to send more myself to other people. So about the RAK group -- what the exact deal? . . . You just sign up and then send someone a card when the mood strikes you? and vice versa??
You know people who have stamps, and they don't even send you cards?? That's not nice!
I have to "lol" - this wasn't meant to be a desperate plea for cards
Signing up for cards is fine I guess, but it's be nice if people I knew sent them cos they thought it would be nice, ya know?
i know what you mean...i'm lucky if i get email cards on my birthday!!! i teased my dad so bad that this year he sent me 2!!! but those were the only 2 i got. people have forgotten the beauty of snail mail....
i do LOVE sending cards. i joined the RAK group not long ago, it's fun sending out random cards. my dh thought i was nuts but now he thinks it's sweet...(dh sees cards go out with postage=he sees $$$ go out the door).
Join the RAK list you guys. You can pick someone off the list and send them a RAndom Act of Kindness. I have sent and recieved and it is great. There is also a BRAK list for birthdays if you want to send someone a birthday card. Just thought I would throw that in as well.
You can PM me too. I may not be fast but I do send. Just a note..even if you join the RAK group there is no way of knowing if you'll be chosen to be RAKed. We have close to 1000 members now and to randomly choose is tough. If you RAK someone most will send you a card in return though.
How do you sign up for the Secret Sister? I would love to be one and have one and would like to join the RAK one too. I usually will send a card if someone posts the address of someone that needs a lift. I don't get any homemade cards in the mail either and so I join tons of swaps. That way I get tons of cards back. When I see that envelope in the mailbox I can't wait to get in the house to open it. It really lifts up my day!!!
I do get wonderful crayon drawings from my little grandson(age . He always writes "I love you gramma." They are the most special mail that ever comes my way.
Thanks for the tip about RAK. I did not know what it was, so I checked it out and sent the "sign me up" note.
However, I have noticed that my non-stamping family take special care at H@llM@rk picking out cards for me since I work hard on thier cards. It is not the same, but thoughtful none the less.

I thought about joining a RAK group before. First I thought, oh but my cards aren't that good, and now, it's bad timing. Once we've moved and we're settled, I'll do it.
And to all of you who sent me messages - lol - thank you and I will reply soon
To whoever said they Sell stamps to their family and never get a card back I would guess thier family is intimidated to send a card to a "pro" When we have a stamping party we usually have ONE girl who faithfully has a handmade card with her gift , some nice gifts and then my gift which is well known for not even being wrapped much less not having a card. One girl uses her stash of SPECIAL (store bought cards ) given to her for IDEAS . we explain it away by saying we all know how much time we have and if we stamp together we have SEEN each other make all the cards.I Have probably three or four friejnds who faithfully send cards and know they will seldom get one back. I am more likely to send out an odd card here and there for a random rak or a special request than to get a bd card out in the right month. I actually HAve the cards made it is the writing the note and teh stamp that trips me up. I was taught that it is nota card without a personal note/ I can't just sign a card especially a hand made one with out a NOTE and by then the occasion is long past
I have one here lying on the computer with the NOTE ALREADY written to my friend from FEB. I Have seen her at least five time since then (including thisweekend) so now is it worth sending her the card?which was a goof up make you laugh card any way...
same with the bd present bought three months ahead of time but not mailed and yes my MOTHERS bd is tomorrow
guess i can call.....
so yes in the past week *apparently i am a good friend in other ways * I have recieved four handmade cards in the past month i have sent negative twelve. (but i MADE at least thirty!)

Lol - that's great! I used to be that way about cards when I bought them - buy them way ahead of time, sign, address and stamp them - but never send them out (time just slipped by). But now I make them I always send them out on time.
I told my husband just last night that I'd stamp up a bunch of cards and then he could give them to me with some thing written inside, when ever he felt like it.
A couple times a year I make my mom a large lot of cards. Then when it's my birthday or my son's or husbands, lo and behold we get a handmade card made by me! (but from my mom!) It's so fun to open the mail and get that card you weren't expecting and then you are the one who made it. I know it's weird but it works great for my quirky family.
