I just wanted to thank everyone for their responses and suggestions. I went to Wal Mart today and bought a rubbermaid lazy susan. It works great to help it spin easier. So I am very grateful for the su ggestion! Thanks!
The smaller pads "fit" but they go in too far. I slid one in, and didn't like that I had to reach into the slot to pull it out. I'll keep them in a drawer, instead.

I love my SU caddy - at first, I had trouble with it turning but I discovered if I only put the OUTSIDE foam circle on the bottom, it turned very easily. I had placed the inside circle and the outside circle of foam on the bottom and it was then very stubborn to turn. It turns wonderfully, it's light and easy to pull out from under my desk and it is easy to pull the pads in and out. One thing that would help is instructions from SU that you only need the outside circle of foam. I tell all of my customers that have it about the foam circle.
Whenever I read these threads i go so green with envy. We do not have anything like this over here. If I could actually hold a saw I would consider a business making this sort of thing, it is definitely an untapped area of the market. Maybe I should take a woodworking night class .
I don't really have a good understanding of SU's return policy. Maybe someone can help me... Why would SU not allow you to return this caddy if you changed your mind about it? I thought you could return anything within 90 days without a problem. Is this not right? Please help, I'm new to this!
Sarah
I think it's only 30 days, not 90.
I've only had to return something once, and it was so easy! I had received a Bold Alphabet set that must have been made with a bad batch of adhesive, and the rubber pieces were sliding off before I ever had a chance to use the set for the first time. In 7 years of selling SU! my demo had never had a customer with this problem before, but she quickly filled out the paperwork, obtained a return label, mailed it to me (she's back in Virginia), and gave me instructions on what to do. I sent the defective rubber pieces back to SU!, and in no time got a brand new set of them free. Didn't even have to pay shipping since the return label was postage paid. I hated that I had to remount that whole double alphabet set, though! :p

You have 90 days to return NEW, UNOPENED merchandise. You also have 90 days to return DEFECTIVE merchandise. If you have opened it, and just don't like it, you cannot return it. Aslo-- all returns are exchange only for the same dollar amount.
Can you imagine if they did allow opened merchandise to be returned? You would have customers returning open inkpads after using then to make invitations, announcements, b-day cards... "Oh, I just didn't like this color-- I'm getting another!"
The Elite organizer at Stampinthings.com is the one I purchased. It rocks!!!!
Very nice lady to deal with and highly recommend this unit. Sure wish SU had come up with something similar. I certainly would have given them my business instead.
I too was very disappointed with my SU caddy, especially since it cost so much. I agree that it is very compact and saves space but it just seems too heavily loaded down and not very sturdy. However I just went to my stamp space and placed it on a lazy susan. WOW!! What a difference! It not only helps with the turning, it also solves the wobbling problem. Thanks for the fantastic idea.
First remedy I had to make for my holder was to go out and buy a rubbermaid turntable spinner. It works better on the spinner. BUT I still don't think that the caddy is up to the high quality that we have all come to expect from SU. Just my HO. I have all the stamp pads so it is evenly balanced out but it still wobbles and the pads really don't slide back into place real easily. Some of the racks that I have seen on line that are made from wood appear that they would be a better investment. Just my nickles worth.

I've already dropped the hint to my DH - This is my Mother's Day gift!
I love my caddy for storage, but I'm not impressed with it, overall. It's flimsy and doesn't rotate very well. And now I still have to find a spot to store my discontinued pads & the new "family."
Just received my Elite pad organizer from Stampinthings.com, and the news that she is releasing a "topper" for the Elite this weekend. It will sit on top of the unit (hence the name) and hold an additional 36 pads. Storing the new colors will be easy, and maybe I'll indulge in some craft pads too.

My caddy was wobbly when I first put it together because I didn't screw it together tight enough. I did resort to getting a lazy susan and I love the way it turns now.
